Are you a high-performing financial leader ready to make a massive impact? A highly respected, regional leader in the large-scale construction and infrastructure sector is seeking a visionary Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
Operating as a major player in the construction market, our organization blends the agility and close-knit culture of a privately held company with the footprint and capabilities of an enterprise giant. This is a rare, legacy-defining opportunity to take the financial reins of a highly stable, multi-entity organization and serve as a key strategic partner directly to ownership.
The Ultimate Selling Point: You get the stability and financial backing of an industry powerhouse, but with the entrepreneurial freedom, speed, and direct ownership access of a private firm—minus the corporate red tape.
If you are a financial rockstar with deep construction roots, a hands-on work ethic, and the sophistication to manage complex corporate structures, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
As the executive financial leader, you will oversee the financial health, compliance, and accounting operations across our corporate headquarters and multiple operating branches.
- Serve as the primary executive lead for an upcoming, enterprise-wide ERP software implementation, modernizing and streamlining our financial tech stack.
- Provide strategic leadership and mentorship to decentralized controllers and accounting staff across our regional operations.
- Supervise the production of comprehensive, annual GAAP financial statements (including footnotes), and ensure precise, timely monthly closings and internal reporting.
- Serve as the primary liaison and safeguard between the company, commercial banking partners, and bonding companies. Cultivate relationships to optimize equipment financing and surety lines.
- Lead tax planning and projections for all corporate entities, ensuring full compliance and reviewing all returns prior to filing.
- Oversee corporate budget planning, continuous monitoring, and rigorous monthly variance analysis to drive profitability.
- Support ownership with financial modeling and due diligence for potential acquisition or disposition transactions.
Qualifications & Profile
We are looking for a dynamic, hands-on executive who thrives in a collaborative, privately held corporate culture but possesses the financial acumen to run a large-scale enterprise.
- 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience within a large-scale Construction, Infrastructure, or General Contracting organization.
- Currently operating as a CFO, or a high-performing Controller/SVP ready to take the next step.
- A powerful blend of public accounting foundation and private industry construction experience is highly preferred.
- Proven track record of leading major accounting software transitions or ERP implementations.
- CPA and/or CCIFP (Certified Construction Financial Professional) designations are highly desirable.
- Proven ability to navigate, respect, and thrive within a prominent, private company environment.
Compensation & Benefits
- Highly competitive and commensurate with experience.
- Full relocation assistance is available to our corporate office in Northern/Central NJ for the right champion.
- Executive-level benefits package, performance incentives, and a deeply supportive, tight-knit executive culture.
