Overview
We are seeking a proven mid-market Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with demonstrable experience leading a successful business sale to join a privately owned, UK-based mid-market group in the East Midlands. You will be expected to partner with leadership in accelerating growth and preparing the business for a successful exit.
This is a pivotal leadership role with a clear mandate to complete the ongoing performance transformation of the Group and prepare the business for a successful sale within the next 2-3 years. The Role
As CFO, you will be responsible for driving enterprise value creation, strengthening financial and operational discipline, supporting growth, and ultimately preparing and delivering a successful exit. You will work closely with the CEO and senior leadership team. This is a hands-on role that combines strategic leadership with execution in a fast-paced, medium-sized environment.
The role is focused on delivering strong EBITDA growth through disciplined financial leadership, robust reporting, and close partnership with operational leaders to improve margins, efficiency, and cash generation. You will be driving performance using clear KPIs, rigorous tracking, and timely corrective action, underpinned by strong governance and insight-led decision-making. You will also support and shape the commercial strategy.
In parallel, you will be instrumental in scaling the business and preparing for exit, supporting both organic growth and M&A activity while ensuring disciplined capital deployment. A key priority is leading end-to-end exit preparation and execution, including QoE, data readiness, and managing relationships with Advisors, to deliver a compelling equity story and maximise value on exit.
