Founding Fractional Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Location: Texas (Hybrid / Remote)
Company: MG & Sons Holdings, LLC
Platform: MPG Workforce Communities
About the Platform
MG & Sons Holdings is building a vertically integrated real estate platform focused on acquiring, developing, and operating workforce housing communities across Texas. By combining development, construction management, land acquisition, institutional underwriting, and long-term ownership under a single organizational structure, MPG Workforce Communities eliminates the friction of traditional third-party development.
We are seeking a Founding Fractional CFO to architect the platform's financial foundation as we advance into active capitalization and project execution.
Position Summary
Reporting directly to the Founder & CEO, the Fractional CFO will serve as the platform's senior financial executive. This role is designed for an experienced builder who understands the financial complexities of commercial real estate development and can architect an institutional-quality finance function to support capital formation, project delivery, and long-term portfolio growth.
Primary Responsibilities
• Capital Formation & Strategy: Support debt and equity capital structuring, manage investor due diligence, and assist in the creation of institutional investment memorandums.
• Financial Infrastructure: Architect and oversee corporate budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and institutional-quality reporting systems.
• Underwriting & Acquisitions: Work alongside the development team to evaluate new opportunities, stress-test financial models, and review project underwriting assumptions.
• Corporate Governance: Develop financial controls, reporting standards, and governance procedures for the parent company and project-specific investment entities (SPVs).
• Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary financial liaison to investors, lenders, attorneys, and tax professionals, ensuring the platform is prepared for institutional lending relationships.
Qualifications & Experience
• 10+ years of executive financial leadership (CFO, VP of Finance, or senior finance executive).
• Direct experience in commercial real estate development, multifamily, private equity real estate, or family office platforms.
• Proven track record navigating capital raises, construction financing, debt structures, equity partnerships, and development pro formas.
• Extensive experience presenting to institutional investors, lenders, and executive leadership.
• CPA designation is highly valued but not required.
Candidate Profile
• A strategic thinker who remains highly detail-oriented.
• An operator who enjoys building financial infrastructure from the ground up rather than simply maintaining legacy systems.
• Brings institutional discipline without introducing unnecessary corporate bureaucracy.
• Values long-term partnerships and collaborative, cross-functional leadership.
Compensation & Structure
This is a founding fractional executive position. Compensation is highly flexible based on experience and availability, and may include a combination of a monthly retainer, project-based compensation, performance incentives, and long-term equity participation for the right operating partner.
