Job Title: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Position Overview
A rapidly expanding private equity–backed industrial services platform is seeking a seasoned and execution-driven Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead financial strategy, operational excellence, and value creation across the organization.
As a key member of the executive leadership team, the CFO will partner closely with the CEO, Board, and PE sponsors to scale the business, strengthen financial infrastructure, and position the company for continued growth—both organic and through acquisition.
This role requires a hands-on leader who understands how to operate in a fast-moving, PE-backed environment and can balance strategic decision-making with the ability to dive deep into financial performance, reporting, and operations.
Responsibilities
Strategic Finance Leadership
- Serve as the strategic financial partner to the CEO and PE firm, contributing to overall business direction, long-term planning, and investment decisions.
- Lead development of financial strategies that support growth, operational scalability, and EBITDA expansion.
- Provide financial insight to guide corporate strategy, pricing, market expansion, and capital allocation decisions.
Financial Planning, Analysis & Reporting
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, monthly performance reviews, and ongoing financial modeling.
- Establish a rigorous FP&A function that delivers accurate, timely, and actionable insights for leadership and sponsors.
- Build KPIs, dashboards, and reporting tools that enhance visibility into operations, margin performance, and working capital.
Accounting & Financial Operations
- Lead and elevate the accounting function, ensuring robust financial controls, accurate reporting, and a disciplined month-end close process.
- Ensure GAAP compliance, strong internal controls, and financial accuracy across all business units.
- Manage the company’s audit, tax, and banking relationships; maintain lender reporting requirements.
Cash, Working Capital & Treasury Management
- Direct cash forecasting, liquidity planning, and working capital optimization.
- Monitor AR, AP, inventory, capex, and major cost drivers, implementing improvements across the business.
- Evaluate and manage funding, credit facilities, and capital structure in partnership with the PE sponsor.
M&A, Integration & Scalability
- Play a central role in evaluating strategic acquisitions—including financial diligence, modeling, and integration planning.
- Lead finance integration for add-on acquisitions, ensuring consistent processes, systems, and controls.
- Support development of playbooks, post-close operational roadmaps, and synergy tracking.
Operations & Performance Improvement
- Collaborate closely with operations leadership to improve efficiencies, reduce cost structure, and streamline workflows.
- Use data and analytics to identify margin improvement opportunities and operational enhancements.
- Serve as an influential leader in driving cultural and operational alignment across the platform.
Team Leadership & Development
- Build and develop a high-performing finance organization, upgrading talent where needed.
- Coach and mentor finance leaders to create a scalable, accountable, and execution-focused team.
- Establish a culture of rigor, transparency, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- 12–20+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience, with significant leadership responsibility.
- Prior experience as a CFO, VP Finance, or senior finance leader in a PE-backed or high-growth industrial services, field services, industrial operations, or related environment.
- Deep expertise in financial reporting, FP&A, cash management, systems, and operational finance.
- Demonstrated success supporting M&A, integrations, and scaling multi-location service operations.
- Hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves approach paired with strong executive presence and communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree required; CPA or MBA preferred.
Compensation
- Base Salary: $300,000
- Bonus: Performance-based annual bonus
