The CFO serves as a key member of Jordan Health's executive leadership team and is responsible for providing strategic financial leadership, operational oversight, and fiscal stewardship in support of the organization's mission, vision, and long-term sustainability. Reporting directly to the President & Chief Executive Officer, the CFO serves as a trusted advisor to the CEO, Board of Directors, Finance Committee, and executive leadership team on all matters related to financial strategy, organizational performance, reimbursement, risk management, and business operations.
The CFO will lead the development and execution of financial strategies that support Jordan Health's continued growth, operational excellence, and commitment to delivering high-quality, community-centered healthcare services. This executive will oversee all aspects of finance, accounting, budgeting, forecasting, treasury management, revenue cycle, financial reporting, compliance, audit activities, and financial planning while ensuring the organization maintains strong fiscal health and regulatory compliance.
Jordan Health seeks a forward-thinking, collaborative, and data-driven financial leader who possesses a deep understanding of healthcare finance, reimbursement methodologies, Medicaid and Medicare funding, revenue cycle operations, grants management, and complex regulatory environments. The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience strengthening financial performance, enhancing operational efficiencies, optimizing reimbursement strategies, and supporting organizational decision-making through meaningful financial analysis and strategic insight.
The CFO will play a critical role in advancing Jordan Health's strategic priorities by identifying opportunities for growth, improving financial sustainability, supporting innovation, and fostering a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will be an influential leader who can effectively translate complex financial information into actionable business strategies while building strong relationships with leadership, staff, Board members, funding agencies, financial institutions, auditors, and community stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Financial Leadership
- Serve as a strategic advisor to the President & Chief Executive Officer on matters impacting the financial health, sustainability, and growth of the organization.
- Monitor changes in the healthcare, reimbursement, regulatory, and economic environment and provide recommendations regarding potential opportunities, risks, and strategic responses.
- Develop and execute financial strategies that support Jordan Health’s mission, strategic plan, and long-term organizational objectives.
- Partner with executive leadership to evaluate business opportunities, service line expansion, strategic partnerships, and innovative care delivery models.
- Provide financial forecasting, modeling, and analysis to support strategic decision-making and organizational planning.
- Identify opportunities to diversify and strengthen revenue streams while enhancing organizational sustainability.
- Ensure financial and operational strategies remain aligned with Jordan Health’s growth objectives and evolving healthcare landscape.
Financial Planning, Budgeting & Performance Management
- Lead the annual operating and capital budgeting processes and oversee long-range financial planning activities.
- Develop and monitor key financial performance indicators and organizational metrics.
- Evaluate organizational performance through regular financial analysis, identifying opportunities for operational improvement and enhanced financial outcomes.
- Provide timely financial reporting and recommendations to support executive leadership decision-making.
- Oversee financial aspects of the strategic plan and provide regular updates on progress toward financial goals and objectives.
Revenue Cycle & Healthcare Reimbursement
- Provide executive oversight of revenue cycle operations to ensure accurate and timely capture of earned revenue.
- Partner with clinical and operational leaders to optimize reimbursement performance and strengthen financial outcomes.
- Collaborate with leadership regarding healthcare reimbursement strategies, payer contracting, and evolving payment models.
- Evaluate opportunities to improve financial performance through enhanced reimbursement methodologies, payer relationships, and operational efficiencies.
- Support organizational initiatives that advance value-based care and other emerging reimbursement models.
Accounting, Treasury & Financial Operations
- Oversee all accounting, treasury, banking, investment, and financial reporting functions.
- Ensure the integrity of financial systems, internal controls, and financial management practices.
- Direct the preparation and review of financial statements, management reports, forecasts, and other financial analyses.
- Oversee banking relationships, investment strategies, and other financial agreements necessary to support organizational operations.
- Maximize the effective use of technology and financial systems to improve operational efficiency and financial performance.
- Lead efforts to continuously improve financial processes, controls, and reporting capabilities.
Grants, Compliance & Risk Management
- Collaborate with organizational leadership to ensure compliance with all applicable financial, regulatory, contractual, and grant requirements.
- Provide financial oversight of grants management activities and associated reporting obligations.
- Partner with compliance and operational leaders to oversee financial aspects of billing operations, 340B programs, and other regulated activities.
- Monitor and strengthen internal controls to safeguard organizational assets and ensure fiscal integrity.
- Lead relationships with external auditors and oversee the successful completion of annual audits, tax filings, and required regulatory reporting.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to federal, state, and funding agencies.
Board Relations & Governance
- Serve as the primary financial liaison to the Board of Directors, Finance Committee, and Audit Committee.
- Prepare and present financial reports, forecasts, analyses, and strategic recommendations to Board leadership.
- Partner with the Board Treasurer and Finance Committee Chair to support effective governance and financial oversight.
- Support Audit Committee activities and coordinate relationships with external audit and advisory firms.
- Promote financial literacy and understanding among Board members and organizational leaders through clear communication and education.
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team committed to excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Establish performance expectations, provide coaching and feedback, and foster professional growth throughout the department.
- Promote collaboration across departments to support organizational goals and strengthen financial stewardship.
- Model integrity, transparency, professionalism, and ethical leadership in all aspects of the role.

Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
- CPA, MBA, MHA, or other advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of progressive financial leadership experience, including senior leadership responsibilities.
- Experience leading finance functions within healthcare, nonprofit, human services, or similarly complex regulated environments.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in an FQHC, HRSA, 330 Grant and 340 B.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare reimbursement, including Medicaid, Medicare, managed care, value-based payment models, and revenue cycle operations.
- Experience with grants management and complex funding structures.
- Demonstrated success leading financial transformation, operational improvement, and organizational growth initiatives.
- Experience presenting to Boards of Directors and Finance Committees.
