Build the Financial Infrastructure Behind a Growing Construction Organization
We're looking for an experienced construction accounting leader who is ready to take ownership of the entire financial function of a growing organization.
This opportunity is particularly well suited for a Corporate Controller, Construction Controller, or senior financial leader who has mastered construction accounting and is ready to step into a broader executive role.
Our organization operates across multiple construction and service companies, with approximately $45 million in combined annual revenue and operations primarily in Las Vegas and Phoenix. We have decades of established experience in the Las Vegas market, strong industry relationships, and an organization that is entering its next stage of growth.
We're not looking for someone who simply wants to maintain the accounting department.
We're looking for someone who wants to build it, lead it, improve it, and make it scalable.
This is a hands-on executive leadership position. You'll be expected to move comfortably between the details and the big picture: reviewing a WIP schedule, analyzing project margins, resolving a balance-sheet reconciliation, evaluating cash flow, improving processes in Vista, working with banking partners, developing your team, and sitting with ownership to discuss where the business is going next.
The Opportunity
This isn't a narrowly defined CFO position.
You'll have the opportunity to shape how the finance and accounting function operates as the organization continues to grow.
You'll lead a team of approximately five accounting and administrative professionals and establish the structure, accountability, processes, and development needed to create a high-performing department.

What You'll Own
Financial Leadership & Strategy
- Serve as the senior financial leader and strategic partner to ownership and executive leadership.
- Develop budgets, forecasts, cash-flow projections, and long-term financial plans.
- Monitor profitability, margins, overhead, working capital, and financial performance across multiple companies.
- Identify financial risks, operational inefficiencies, and opportunities to improve profitability and cash flow.
- Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support operational and strategic decisions.
- Support growth initiatives, capital investments, acquisitions, and expansion into new markets or service lines.
Construction Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Oversee the complete accounting and financial reporting function across multiple operating companies.
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
- Ensure balance-sheet accounts are properly reconciled and supported.
- Produce consolidated and entity-level financial statements and management reporting.
- Maintain accurate job-cost accounting and WIP reporting.
- Oversee revenue recognition, accruals, intercompany accounting, billing, and retainage.
- Ensure financial information is accurate, timely, and dependable.
- Maintain lender-ready financial reporting and compliance with reporting requirements.
Cash Flow, Banking & Risk
- Manage cash flow, liquidity, borrowing availability, and capital requirements.
- Oversee banking relationships, credit facilities, and financing arrangements.
- Monitor accounts receivable, collections, accounts payable, billing, and vendor payments.
- Establish and maintain strong internal controls and appropriate separation of duties.
- Manage relationships with lenders, bonding partners, insurance brokers, auditors, tax professionals, and other advisors.
- Oversee insurance renewals, claims reporting, and related financial and operational reporting.
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, coach, and develop an accounting and administrative team of approximately five professionals.
- Establish clear responsibilities, expectations, deadlines, and accountability.
- Delegate effectively while maintaining appropriate oversight and quality control.
- Build repeatable processes, documented procedures, and reporting standards.
- Identify staffing needs as the organization grows.
- Develop a culture centered on accuracy, ownership, communication, execution, and continuous improvement.
Payroll & Administrative Compliance
Oversee the administrative and compliance components of HR, including:
- Payroll administration and reporting
- Employee documentation and personnel records
- Workers' compensation tracking
- Insurance reporting
- Onboarding and separation documentation
- Employment-related recordkeeping and reporting
This is not an employee-relations or culture leadership position. The focus is ensuring the payroll, documentation, insurance, and compliance functions are accurate, organized, and consistently managed.
Technology & Systems
Trimble Vista / Viewpoint experience is required.
You'll be expected to understand and improve how Vista supports:
- General Ledger

- Financial Reporting
We're looking for someone who can identify system gaps, improve data integrity, establish consistent workflows and controls, and help the organization get more value from its ERP systems.
What We're Looking For
Required
- Experience as a Corporate Controller, Construction Controller, CFO, or comparable senior financial leader.
- Significant experience managing the full accounting and financial reporting function.
- Construction or contracting industry experience.
- Demonstrated Trimble Vista / Viewpoint Vista experience in a construction or service environment.
- Strong knowledge of construction accounting, including job costing, WIP, project margins, billing, retainage, and construction financial reporting.
- Experience managing a multi-company or multi-entity organization.
- Proven experience leading and developing an accounting team.
- Strong knowledge of financial close, reconciliations, cash-flow forecasting, budgeting, financial analysis, and internal controls.
- Experience overseeing payroll and administrative compliance functions.
- Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- High level of integrity, discretion, accountability, and professional judgment.
- Ability to work full-time in our Las Vegas office.
Preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
- CPA, CMA, MBA, or similar designation.
- Experience overseeing multiple companies, branches, or locations.
- Experience with banking relationships, lines of credit, bonding, insurance, and financial covenant reporting.
- Experience supporting organizations through growth, expansion, acquisitions, or organizational change.
Compensation & Benefits
$150,000 - $200,000 annual base salary
Actual compensation will depend on experience, construction accounting expertise, leadership capability, qualifications, and proficiency with Trimble Vista.
