Avatrial exists to save the lives of patients with cancer by accelerating the global mission towards superior, personalised treatments. We are building a unique end-to-end cancer drug discovery platform that combines access to high-quality human tissue samples, full-stack multi-omic data generation, artificial intelligence and machine learning, and rapid experimental validation to identify and develop better cancer therapies, faster.
As we grow, we are looking for a Business Operations Coordinator to join us on-site and help keep the company running smoothly as we scale. This is a varied, hands-on role at the heart of Avatrial’s day-to-day operations - connecting our lab science, data science, regulatory, IT, quality, business development, and strategic partnerships teams, while also leading the company’s core administrative functions.
You will not need to be a domain expert in any of these areas. Instead, you will need to understand enough of the language and concepts used across the business to keep everyone connected - tracking progress against our goals, identifying where things are slowing down, keeping our platforms (ClickUp, SharePoint, and others) working effectively, and making sure the right people are talking to each other at the right time.
Alongside this coordination role, you will also take ownership of many of Avatrial’s day-to-day administrative functions, including invoicing and basic accounts support, payroll coordination, onboarding new team members, office and facilities management, and general company administration.
This is a mid-level, full-time, on-site role; you will be on the ground, in the detail, and directly involved in the practical running of the business, rather than setting high-level strategy. As Avatrial grows, we expect this role to evolve, and it may eventually be split into more specialised functions.
We are looking for someone highly organised, proactive, and comfortable moving between very different types of tasks in the same day - from chasing an action point with a scientist, to reconciling an invoice, to arranging a new starter’s first day.
Salary: £35,000–£45,000, depending on experience
