About AssetAccountantAssetAccountant is an enterprise-grade fixed asset depreciation and lease accounting platform built for CFOs, Financial Controllers, and Finance Directors managing complex asset registers and lease portfolios. Our customers are compliance-driven: AASB 16, IFRS 16, ATO/IRS depreciation schedules, year-end close. Getting this right is not a nice-to-have for them. It is a regulatory requirement.
We are ANZ-founded, fully remote, and trusted by close to a thousand businesses and accounting firms across Australia, New Zealand, the US, Canada, the UK, and South Africa. Our customer base includes some of the most sophisticated finance teams in the region, from mid-market businesses to large multi-entity groups managing complex asset registers and lease portfolios across multiple jurisdictions.
We are growing. The commercial function is being built with more intent than ever before. This hire is part of that.
Why this role existsWe’ve grown on a strong product and a loyal base, but the system underneath our revenue hasn’t been built yet. The funnel isn’t joined up on either side of the sale. Our tools don’t talk to each other. There’s no framework for spotting which accounts are ready to buy, and the data isn’t pulled together in one place.
That’s the job. You’ll build the revenue engine, the funnel, the systems, the data and the signals, that everything else runs on. It’s a founding hire reporting to the CRO, with the scope to design it properly from the start rather than inherit someone else’s version. If you like a blank page and a clear mandate, this is one of the best build jobs going.
What you’ll ownThe commercial operating system
- Design the operating system that connects marketing, sales, channel, customer success and leadership into one revenue engine. You’ll define how work flows across teams, how performance is measured, how forecasting works, and the operating cadence the business runs on.
Funnel operations, end to end
- Design and orchestrate the funnel across three growth motions: direct sales, VARs and resellers, and partner-sourced opportunities.
- Define lifecycle stages, routing, qualification and handoffs across every team touching the customer journey.
- Stand up deal registration so partner-sourced and direct opportunities are protected, visible and easy to manage.
- Own forecasting infrastructure, pipeline governance and the commercial processes that improve forecast accuracy over time.
Revenue systems
- Lead the migration from Pipedrive to a leading revenue platform (e.g. Hubspot/Salesforce/Day.ai) and design a connected revenue technology stack spanning CRM, marketing automation, customer success, support, billing and finance.
- Design the revenue data model so every company, contact, opportunity, product and customer interaction is consistently structured across every system.
- Build Notion/Confluence into the operational knowledge layer for the business, documenting playbooks, processes and ways of working as the company scales.
- Own data quality, governance and the single source of truth for commercial reporting.
Signals, analytics and experimentation
- Build the signal framework that turns buying triggers, including ERP implementations, finance leadership changes, audits and regulatory events, into timely commercial action.
- Stand up attribution so we know what creates pipeline, influences opportunities and drives revenue.
- Design the experimentation framework that allows marketing, outbound and customer success to test ideas quickly, measure results and scale what works.
- Build the dashboards and leading indicators the leadership team runs the business on, including pipeline coverage, forecast accuracy, pipeline creation, win rate, sales cycle, CAC payback, retention, expansion, partner performance, trial-to-paid conversion and time-to-value.
AI operations across the commercial organisation
- Build AI into workflows wherever it meaningfully improves quality, speed or decision making.
- Use AI to enrich accounts, surface buying signals, improve forecasting, summarise customer conversations, automate repetitive work and help a lean commercial team operate well beyond its size.
What winning looks like- The commercial operating system is defined, documented and being used across marketing, sales, channel and customer success.
- Every opportunity follows a consistent lifecycle, with clear ownership, measurable conversion rates and reliable reporting.
- Leadership reviews one revenue dashboard with trusted data and agreed definitions.
- Forecasting is predictable enough that commercial decisions are based on evidence.
- HubSpot is live, the revenue stack is connected and data quality is no longer a recurring issue.
- Deal registration is operational, channel conflict is largely eliminated and partner performance is measurable.
- Buying signals are feeding outbound programs and commercial teams know which accounts deserve attention first.
- AI is embedded into day-to-day workflows, reducing manual effort and improving how quickly the team can execute.
The problems you’ll solveYou’re not joining to maintain an existing RevOps function. You’re here to build one.
Today, some of the foundations are still being created. Over time, you’ll solve problems like these:
- We need one commercial operating model across marketing, sales, channel and customer success.
- We need forecasting the leadership team can trust.
- We need complete visibility into where pipeline comes from, what converts and why.
- We need buying signals that tell us who is likely to purchase before they enter our funnel.
- We need our systems, data and processes working together instead of in silos.
- We need AI to remove manual work and improve decision making across the commercial team.
If those sound like interesting problems to solve, you’ll probably enjoy this role.
What you’ll bring- You’ve built a RevOps function or commercial operating system before, not simply inherited one.
- You understand how modern B2B SaaS companies scale, and you’ve designed the systems, data models and commercial processes that support that growth.
- You’re equally comfortable discussing forecasting, workflow design, CRM architecture with sales and integrations with technical teams.
- You have deep experience with HubSpot or a comparable CRM, marketing automation, reporting, integrations and workflow automation. You’re comfortable working with APIs, data structures and connected systems, even if you aren’t an engineer.
- You think in systems rather than tools. Technology is simply how you implement a well-designed operating model.
- You’re highly analytical, commercially curious and naturally look for bottlenecks that slow growth.
- You’re AI-native and constantly looking for ways to improve how work gets done.
- Most importantly, you’re energised by building. Ambiguity doesn’t slow you down. It gives you room to create something better.
What would set you apart- Experience in vertical or compliance SaaS, or selling to finance teams.
- Channel or partner operations, including deal registration and partner-sourced pipeline.
- Signal-based or intent-led go-to-market, and the data that powers it.
- Notion as a process and knowledge layer.
How we workWe test before we invest. We run small, focused sprints to get signal, then put resource behind what works and stop what doesn’t. We’re AI-native, we keep teams lean, and we’re honest about what’s working. Our buyer is a finance professional who tests your credibility before they trust your software, so we sell on substance. You won’t be a cog here. You’ll build the thing.
