LHH (Atlanta) is partnering with a privately held, technology-focused organization in the Atlanta market in the search for a Chief Financial Officer. This is a highly visible executive leadership opportunity for a commercially minded finance leader who can help guide the business through a period of operational and financial transformation.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong combination of operational finance, commercial leadership, and transformation experience. This person must be comfortable evaluating the business at a detailed level, identifying opportunities to improve profitability and cash flow, and leading initiatives involving capital structure optimization, organizational efficiency, and enterprise-wide performance improvement.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a strategic financial partner to the CEO, Board of Directors, and executive leadership team.
- Lead all aspects of Finance and Accounting, including financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, treasury, accounting, and controls.
- Develop and execute strategies to improve profitability, liquidity, cash flow, and long-term enterprise value.
- Lead business transformation initiatives focused on margin improvement, operating efficiency, organizational effectiveness, and creating a more scalable cost structure.
- Evaluate business performance across customers, contracts, products, and operating areas to identify opportunities, risks, and areas requiring corrective action.
- Lead capital structure initiatives, including debt refinancing or restructuring, lender relationships, covenant management, and liquidity planning.
- Partner with commercial and operational leadership on pricing, contract economics, customer profitability, and strategic growth initiatives.
- Oversee Information Technology strategy, infrastructure, cybersecurity, systems investments, and technology-related business initiatives.
- Strengthen financial reporting, internal controls, performance metrics, and executive-level business intelligence.
- Support potential acquisitions, divestitures, financing transactions, and other strategic initiatives as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline required; CPA, MBA, or other advanced credentials preferred.
- Significant experience as a CFO, divisional CFO, or senior finance executive within a software, technology, technology-enabled, or similarly complex organization.
- Demonstrated experience leading a company or business unit through a turnaround, restructuring, transformation, or significant performance-improvement initiative.
- Strong operational finance background with experience improving profitability, cash flow, forecasting, financial controls, and business performance.
- Experience with debt refinancing, restructuring, capital structure optimization, lender relationships, and liquidity management.
- Commercial finance experience involving pricing, customer and contract profitability, strategic planning, and executive decision support.
- Proven ability to work effectively with executive leadership teams, Boards of Directors, investors, lenders, and other external stakeholders.
- Private equity-backed company experience is highly preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and change-management capabilities.
- Ability to operate strategically while remaining hands-on and execution-focused.
Compensation
The position offers a base salary of up to $350,000, based on experience, along with an annual performance bonus and equity participation.
