About Pathway Labs
Pathway Labs is building EchoNext, an AI-based screening tool that turns the standard ECG — a test that already happens millions of times a year — into a way to detect structural heart disease (heart failure, valve disease, cardiac amyloid, pulmonary hypertension, and more) long before patients show symptoms.
We're a world-leading cardiac AI team, published in Nature, and we ran the largest cardiac AI screening trial in the country. Our work has been covered in the New York Times, CNN, CBS, STAT, and Reuters.
Heart disease kills around 20 million people a year and there has never been a real screening test for it. We're building one.
The role
We're hiring a Strategic Partnerships & Go-to-Market Lead to turn early partnership momentum into a high-trust growth engine.
While health system sales will belong to the sales time, you'll work across the rest of go-to-market: taking new partnerships through contracting and implementation, driving go / no-go decisions on new initiatives and markets, developing pricing and billing strategy, offering marketing support, and touching the operational systems that make all of it run. You will be a strong candidate if ou view yourself as a Swiss Army knife, with a particular strength in parntership negotiations and management.
This is not a pure partnerships or strategy role. We need someone excited to build the plan and then do the work: drive open questions to decisions, pull together materials, coordinate with advisors and outside counsel, manage details, and take ownership of areas they may not have led before. The job will evolve quickly, and the right person will help define what “go to market” means at Pathway Labs as we scale.
What we're looking for
- You have personally been the client-facing owner of healthcare relationships, and you were accountable for a commercial outcome. Please be specific about this in your application.
- A doer-operator with strong commercial judgment. You can think from first principles, but you're happiest when the thinking turns into forward motion.
- Experience in healthcare, health systems, medtech, digital health, or diagnostics, environments where trust, stakeholders, and process matter.
- Comfort owning ambiguous projects that cut across functions: partnerships, market research, new market opportunity evaluation, marketing, pricing, and billing
- Strong communication instincts. You write clearly, synthesize messy inputs, make customer-facing materials sharper, and keep internal and external stakeholders aligned.
- High ownership and low ego. You notice what needs to happen, dig in, and are willing to take on work that's unglamorous but important.
- Excitement about joining a small team of talented builders. You're great at what you do and energized by learning the next thing.
What we're not looking for
- Someone whose experience is adjacent to commercial rather than in it, such as product, marketing, or strategy work without ever having owned a client relationship or a number.
- Someone for whom this would be a first or second commercial role. This isn't the right landing spot for a post-MBA transition into commercial work.
- Someone who only wants to manage from above and not do the work themselves.
- Someone who needs a large team, mature processes, or a tightly scoped lane on day one.
- A pure partnerships or commercial strategy leader who wants to focus on only one of these areas.
Example projects you might take on
- Evaluate a new payment model and drive the team to a clear go / no-go decision
- Own a strategic partner contract process through close, working closely with outside counsel
- Lead relationships with current partners, coordinating with product and executive teams to ensure success
- Evaluate a new market opportunity alongside an expert advisor and recommend whether to pursue it
- Plan and implement the initial marketing strategy, using outsourced resources where helpful
- Lead billing strategy development, including customer-facing materials
Why this role is worth your time
You'll be joining a small team of early adopters and creative thinkers who hold themselves to a high bar. The people who shape the early days of a company have the most room to grow into whatever comes next, and you'll have direct impact on how we bring EchoNext to market, which opportunities we pursue, and how the company operates as we grow.
How to apply
Email Rachel [at] pathwaylabs [dot] com with your resume and a short note answering one question:
Tell us about a healthcare client relationship you owned. What you were accountable for, what it looked like when you took it on and when you left it, and what nearly went wrong.
