Same Team. More Agency.
THE ROLE
We're looking for a Product Marketing Manager to help turn our products that deliver for existing customers into a company and category that independent insurance agencies know about, understand, and want to buy.
You'll work directly with the founders and stay close to both the product and our customers. You'll learn how independent agencies operate, what slows their teams down, why they buy, what makes them skeptical, and how OBLQ changes the economics of their business. Then you'll turn those insights into the way we go to market.
You'll own product positioning, messaging, launches, customer stories, sales enablement, competitive intelligence, and much of the content that connects OBLQ to the market.
This is an early-stage role. We have products our customers love, we have great data and measurable results, a brand, and a point of view. We need someone who can take those raw materials and build a repeatable product marketing engine around them.
WHAT YOU'LL OWN
Position OBLQ and its products.
Develop clear positioning and messaging for OBLQs current and future products. Understand what matters to agency owners & agents, and translate complex product capabilities into simple reasons to care.
Own the product story.
Make sure our website, social presence, sales materials, demos, campaigns, and product launches tell a consistent and compelling story.
Know the customer.
Spend time with independent agency owners and agents. Understand how they generate leads, quote business, work with carriers, use their CRM, follow up with customers, and make technology decisions.
Turn customer outcomes into proof.
Build case studies, customer stories, ROI narratives, testimonials, and other evidence that helps prospective customers understand what OBLQ can do for their agency.
Build sales enablement.
Give the people selling OBLQ what they need to have better conversations: messaging, presentations, one-pagers, competitive positioning, objection handling, demo narratives, follow-up materials, and customer-specific stories.
Own product launches.
Create the go-to-market plan for new capabilities, carrier integrations, product releases, and future OBLQ products. Define the audience, message, channels, assets, and measures of success.
Understand the market.
Know the insurance technology landscape, the alternatives agencies use today, and where OBLQ fits. Track competitors, comparative raters, agency management systems, CRMs, automation products, and emerging technologies that could change the market.
Build content that earns attention.
Create and manage content for the channels where our customers spend time. That may include LinkedIn, customer email, website content, product education, thought leadership, webinars, industry communities, and other formats we discover work.
Improve how we generate demand.
Work across organic, outbound, partnerships, referrals, and paid acquisition to understand which messages and channels create qualified interest. Test quickly, measure results, and keep what works.
Bring the market back into the product.
You won't own the product roadmap, but you'll have an important voice in it. Bring customer feedback, competitive intelligence, win/loss insights, and market signals back into product decisions.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
You have experience marketing B2B software products and can show examples where your work changed how a product was understood, sold, adopted, or launched.
You know how to find the useful insight inside a customer conversation and turn it into positioning or messaging people actually understand.
You can explain a complicated product simply without stripping away what makes it valuable.
You understand the difference between describing a feature and explaining why someone should care about it.
You're comfortable creating the strategy and doing the work. At this stage, you may define the launch plan in the morning and write the landing page in the afternoon.
You can work closely with product and engineering teams and become technically fluent enough to market what we're building accurately.
You use data to evaluate your work. You care about pipeline, conversion, engagement, adoption, and revenue more than impressions for their own sake.
You're comfortable operating with incomplete information and creating structure where it doesn't yet exist.
You have strong judgment about brand and messaging. You know when something needs another round of thinking and when it just needs to get into the market so we can learn.
SKILLS WE'RE INTERESTED IN
- Working with AI tools to accelerate research, content, experimentation, and execution
- B2B SaaS or vertical SaaS
- Insurance or insurtech (nice to have)
- Products sold to small and midsize businesses
- Workflow automation or operational software
- Product-led or founder-led companies moving toward a repeatable GTM model
- Sales enablement and customer storytelling
- Launching new or unfamiliar product categories
- Competitive and market research

Insurance experience is not a prerequisite. We care more about your ability to understand a market quickly and turn what you learn into effective product marketing.
HOW WE WORK
Our development cycle is fast. New capabilities can move from idea to working software quickly, which means product marketing needs to stay equally close to the product and the customer.
We value people who understand the problem, form a point of view, communicate it clearly, put it into the market, measure what happens, and improve it.
