About the Role
Our client, a leading company in the energy sector , is looking to hire a CFO for its India operations, based out of Mumbai. The role will be responsible for leading the entire finance function in India, ensuring robust financial reporting, taxation, and compliance frameworks, while acting as a strategic business partner to the leadership team.
The ideal candidate will bring strong technical finance expertise combined with commercial acumen, leadership capability, and the ability to navigate the complexities of operating as an MNC subsidiary in India and specially working in manufacturing industry
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the organisation’s financial strategy, capital allocation and long-term financial planning.
- Drive fundraising, debt strategy, project finance and lender/investor relationships.
- Oversee treasury, liquidity, cash flow and working capital management.
- Partner with the Board and senior leadership on business strategy, investments, growth and financial performance.
- Ensure strong financial governance, risk management, compliance and internal controls.
- Drive profitability, cost optimisation and financial discipline across the business.
- Lead and strengthen the finance function and leadership team to support the organisation’s next phase of growth.
What We Are Looking For
• CA / MBA (Finance)
• 15+ years of progressive finance leadership experience, including experience leading a finance function
• Strong experience in the Energy, Power, Infrastructure, Utilities or related sectors
• Strong understanding of corporate finance, treasury, taxation, financial reporting and governance
• Proven experience in fundraising, project finance, debt management and lender/investor relationships
• Strong financial modelling, budgeting and forecasting skills
• Experience working with Boards, investors, lenders and senior leadership
• Strong commercial orientation and strategic business perspective
• Proven ability to build teams, processes and internal controls

- Excellent business partnering skills — ability to work closely with CEO/MD and cross-functional leaders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate financial data into business insights.

- Working knowledge of ERP systems (SAP preferred) and financial planning tools.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, matrixed MNC environment.
