Role summary
Tastel Fine Food Pvt. Ltd. (TFF) is looking for a Chief Financial Officer to lead the finance function through a phase of rapid growth — rising working capital needs, a multi-crore capex and infrastructure build-out, and an eventual path toward a public listing. The CFO will be the company's principal interface with banks and financial institutions, own cost accounting and management reporting, and ensure the finance function's systems (ERP, inventory, MIS) scale with the business.
Key responsibilities
Working capital and treasury
• Plan and manage working capital across an export-oriented, multi-location manufacturing business (raw material procurement, WIP, finished goods, receivables across US/Europe/Gulf/UK buyers)
• Structure and negotiate working capital limits (cash credit, packing credit, bill discounting, LCs, bank guarantees) with existing and new banking partners
• Monitor and forecast cash flow across operating units, flagging funding gaps before they bite
Capex and infrastructure financing
• Lead financial planning and funding for ongoing and future capex, including new plant build-out and capacity expansion
• Evaluate financing structures for capex — term loans, subsidy-linked schemes, equipment leasing — and manage lender relationships through disbursement
• Build and maintain capex budgets, phasing, and variance tracking against project milestones
Banking relationships and negotiation
• Serve as the primary point of contact for all banking relationships; negotiate pricing, covenants, collateral terms and renewals
• Manage multi-bank/multi-facility structures, including transitions between lenders and collateral release processes
• Represent the company in discussions with financial institutions, rating agencies, and government financing bodies
International operations
• Oversee financial management and controls for international offices/subsidiaries as they are set up
• Manage transfer pricing, cross-border fund flows, forex exposure and hedging for export receivables and import payables
• Ensure compliance with local financial and tax regulations in each jurisdiction of operation
Capital markets readiness
• Build the financial governance, reporting and audit discipline needed to take the company toward a future listing (IPO) or institutional fundraise
• Lead or support due diligence for potential equity investment, private placements or listing preparation
• Strengthen corporate governance, board reporting and statutory compliance in line with listed-company expectations
Cost accounting and management reporting
• Own product-wise and plant-wise cost accounting, ensuring accurate costing for export pricing and margin decisions
• Build management reporting (MIS) that gives leadership real-time visibility into cost, margin, and working capital performance
• Drive cost optimization initiatives across procurement, manufacturing and logistics
Systems and technology
• Own the finance function's use of ERP and inventory management systems, driving process standardization and data accuracy across plants
• Partner with IT/operations to improve system integration between production, inventory, and finance
• Evaluate and implement finance automation and reporting tools as the company scales
Required qualifications and experience
• Chartered Accountant (CA), or CA plus CMA/CPA/MBA (Finance); 15+ years of overall finance experience, including at least 5 years in a CFO or senior finance leadership role
• Experience in a manufacturing and export-oriented business is essential; a food processing, FMCG or process manufacturing background is preferred
• Demonstrated experience raising and managing working capital and capex financing with banks and financial institutions
• Hands-on experience managing or setting up international offices/subsidiaries, including cross-border financial controls
• Experience preparing a company for fundraising, private equity investment, or a public listing (IPO) is a strong plus
• Strong background in cost accounting, product costing, and management reporting in a multi-plant manufacturing environment
• Working knowledge of ERP systems (SAP/Oracle/Tally or similar) and inventory management systems, with the ability to drive system implementation and data discipline
• Familiarity with export compliance, forex management, and international trade finance (LCs, bank guarantees, export credit)
Key skills and competencies
• Strong negotiation skills, particularly with banks, lenders and financial institutions
• Strategic financial planning, able to balance growth funding needs against financial discipline
• High attention to detail in cost accounting and financial controls, balanced with the ability to operate at a strategic, board-facing level
• Comfortable operating across geographies and time zones, managing international stakeholders
• Strong IT/systems orientation — able to specify, implement and govern ERP and inventory systems rather than just use them
• Governance mindset, with an eye toward the reporting and control standards a future listed company will need
• Clear communicator with promoters, the board, bankers, auditors and cross-functional plant teams
Reporting line and team
• Reports to: Managing Director / Promoter
• Leads: finance, accounts, costing and MIS teams across manufacturing locations; dotted-line oversight of finance functions in future international offices
• Key interfaces: banks and financial institutions, statutory auditors, regulatory bodies on financial matters, ERP/IT vendors, plant and operations leadership
