Chesapeake Search Partners has been retained by a growing, project-driven construction services organization in the Baltimore area to identify a Chief Financial Officer to join its leadership team.

This is a highly hands-on CFO role for a leader who enjoys being close to the business while also driving financial strategy and long-term growth. The CFO will partner closely with ownership and senior leadership, oversee all accounting and finance functions, and work alongside operations to support project-level performance, cash flow, and margin management.

What You’ll Be Doing

Serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, partnering with ownership and senior leaders on strategic decisions
Lead all accounting and finance functions, including monthly close, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
Work closely with operations and estimating to support project selection, WIP reporting, and cost control
Drive cash flow management, margin improvement, and KPI development
Lead, mentor, and stay hands-on with a lean accounting team
Partner with external firms on tax, audit, and financial reporting

What We’re Looking For

10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, ideally in a project-based or construction-related environment
Strong operational mindset with the ability to balance strategy and execution
Hands-on leadership style and comfort working in a lean organization
ERP and advanced Excel experience required
