Role Summary:
We are looking for a strategic, execution-focused Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead our financial planning, capital strategy, and fiscal operations. The CFO will be a key member of the executive team, overseeing all aspects of finance, financial planning & analysis (FP&A), fundraising, investor relations, and accounting. This person will drive financial strategy, operational efficiency, and capital management to support our ambitious growth trajectory. The ideal candidate does not need prior CFO experience but must have deep experience in high-growth startups, pre-IPO finance strategy, and capital markets.
Core Functions:
- Financial Strategy & Planning: Develop and execute a scalable financial strategy aligned with our long-term growth objectives. Oversee FP&A, financial modeling, and scenario planning to guide executive decision-making. Partner with leadership on company-wide strategic planning, unit economics, and expansion strategies.
- Fundraising & Investor Relations: Lead capital-raising efforts (equity, debt, or alternative financing) to fuel growth. Build and maintain strong relationships with investors, venture capitalists, banks, and strategic partners. Own investor communications, board presentations, and financial reporting.
- Pre-IPO Readiness & Compliance: Develop financial systems, controls, and processes to support potential IPO readiness. Ensure GAAP-compliant financial statements, SEC reporting, and corporate governance best practices. Advise on public company financial strategies, including earnings guidance and capital structure optimization.
- Financial Operations & Accounting Oversight: Oversee managerial accounting, budgeting, and cost management. Optimize financial processes, reporting structures, and internal controls. Manage cash flow, working capital, and financial risk assessment. Lead audit, tax, and compliance functions, working with external advisors and internal teams.
- Cross-Functional Leadership & Team Development: Serve as a thought partner to the CEO, helping drive key business decisions. Lead, develop, and scale the finance & accounting team. Collaborate with product, marketing, and operations teams to drive financial discipline and operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, or related field; MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
- 7-15+ years of finance experience, preferably in high-growth startups, private equity, or public companies.
- Prior CFO experience is not required, but experience as a VP of Finance, Head of FP&A, or similar finance leadership role is preferred.
- Strong experience in fundraising (VC, PE, debt financing) and investor relations.
- Experience with pre-IPO financial strategy, S-1 preparation, and public company finance functions is a huge plus.
- Expertise in financial planning & analysis (FP&A), managerial accounting, and operational finance.
- Ability to build scalable financial systems, automate reporting, and drive efficiency.
- Strong understanding of capital allocation, cost control, and financial forecasting.
- Experience working cross-functionally with executives, boards, and external stakeholders.
