The Opportunity
This is a rare opportunity for an accomplished finance leader to join an executive team at a pivotal moment in the company’s journey. As CFO, you will play a critical role in shaping strategy, driving commercial performance, and partnering with the CEO and Board to deliver transformational growth and value. The role offers a unique platform to influence business direction, lead high-impact initiatives, and contribute directly to a successful exit event.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership:
- Shape and execute financial strategy aligned with growth objectives and PE value creation plans.
- Act as a key advisor to the CEO, Board, and investors on business performance, risk, and strategic initiatives.
Commercial & Operational Excellence:
- Drive commercial decision-making, M&A activity, and business case development.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes to deliver actionable insights.
- Implement robust financial controls and scalable systems to support rapid growth.
Value Creation:
- Identify and unlock EBITDA improvement opportunities across revenue, margin, and cost.
- Build and lead transformation projects, including digital finance initiatives and operational efficiencies.
Investor & Stakeholder Management:
- Serve as the primary contact for the PE sponsor, lenders, and external advisors.
- Lead all financial aspects of exit readiness, including due diligence and transaction support.
Team Leadership:
- Develop and mentor a high-performing finance team.
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and commercial partnership across the business.
Candidate Profile
- Successful track record as CFO or senior finance leader within a PE-backed or high-growth, entrepreneurial business.
- Demonstrated experience in value creation, M&A, and exit processes (trade sale, IPO, secondary buyout, etc.).
- Commercially astute, with a hands-on approach and strong operational finance skills.
- Proven ability to influence at Board level and partner with investors.
- Experience leading finance transformation, systems implementation, and building high-performing teams.
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified (or equivalent); additional MBA or relevant post-graduate credentials advantageous.
