Melbourne | International Scale-Up Opportunity
We’re representing a founder-led consumer business that has built a strong digital footprint and is now entering its next phase of global expansion. With momentum across ecommerce and multi-channel distribution, the business is seeking a commercially astute Chief Financial Officer to help architect the next chapter of growth.
Working directly alongside the Founder & CEO, this role combines strategic influence with operational leadership — steering financial performance while helping shape the infrastructure, discipline and decision-making required for international scale.
The Opportunity
This is a broad, commercially embedded CFO role suited to someone who thrives in fast-moving, growth-oriented environments.
Key areas of focus include:
- Driving financial strategy, commercial planning and performance visibility across the business
- Translating growth initiatives into robust financial outcomes, including profitability, cashflow and unit economics
- Optimising channel performance across ecommerce, marketplace and wholesale operations
- Leading budgeting, forecasting and investment prioritisation
- Enhancing inventory, margin and working capital efficiency
- Building scalable reporting, systems and data capability to support international growth
- Partnering with leadership on expansion strategy across North America, Europe and Asia
- Delivering high-quality Board reporting and strategic insight
- Supporting investor engagement, governance and value creation initiatives alongside private equity stakeholders
About You
You are an experienced finance leader from a consumer-facing, product-driven or digitally enabled business, with the ability to operate strategically while remaining close to the detail.
You will likely bring:
- CFO experience, or a proven readiness to step into a first-time CFO position
- Exposure to ecommerce, retail, consumer products, industrial or omnichannel environments
- Experience supporting international growth and operational scaling
- Strong commercial acumen across pricing, channels, margin and profitability
- Deep capability in cashflow management, inventory and working capital optimisation
- Comfort operating in agile, founder-led businesses where adaptability and pace matter
- Experience engaging with Boards, investors and/or private equity stakeholders
- A pragmatic, low-ego leadership style with the ability to move fluidly between strategic thinking and hands-on execution
