We're seeking a Business Operations Officer for an initial contract opportunity to 30 June 2026, with the potential for extension, based in Sydney, Melbourne or Canberra. This role offers a great opportunity to work closely with senior leadership and contribute to the operational effectiveness of the Markets Group. As part of the Business Management Unit (BMU), you will play a key role in coordinating group-wide business processes, driving strategic initiatives, and enhancing internal communication and engagement. This is a dynamic position that supports collaboration across the group and contributes to the delivery of ASIC's broader objectives.

The team
ASIC's Markets Business Management Unit is a small team responsible for supporting the Markets Group deliver on its key regulatory priorities. The role
As the Business Operations Officer, you will be accountable for:
- Proactively supporting the Executive Director (ED), Senior Executive Leaders (SELs), and other stakeholders with timely information and insights.
- Helping to define, communicate, and continuously improve the BMU's service offering.
- Actively contributing to a caring and collaborative team environment, encouraging curiosity, sharing knowledge and expertise to build team capability and cohesion.
- Leading and supporting the delivery of strategic and operational BMU projects across the Markets Group.
- Coordinating internal communications and engagement, including SharePoint content, forums and events, training and knowledge-sharing, and other communication artefacts.
- Identifying and facilitating business improvement opportunities, with a focus on increasing efficiency and effectiveness across the Markets Group.
- Supporting planning, risk, compliance, financial forecasting and executive reporting activities, and building strong, trusted relationships across the Markets Group and ASIC to enable effective collaboration and stakeholder engagement.
- Engaging in professional development and seek opportunities to broaden your skills, including participation in stretch projects.
About You
You will bring strong experience in business operations, project delivery, or communications, with a solid understanding of planning, risk, and corporate processes. You are confident working across systems such as Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and CRM platforms, and can draw insights from multiple data sources to support decision-making. You're comfortable using your initiative and sound judgement, supporting colleagues in collaborative problem-solving, providing timely solutions, and producing and communicating high-quality outcomes. Experience with data visualisation tools, internal communications, coordinating training programs and staff events is an advantage.
