Job Description
Epworth Freemasons has a proud history of innovation in cancer care and research in Victoria. A key component of this is the Epworth Centre for Immunotherapies and Snowdome Laboratories (ECISL).
ECISL at Epworth Freemasons, is an innovative and renowned leader in blood cancer treatment and research.
ECISL is made up of five key areas:
- Cellular Therapies Unit (CTU) –provides access to complex immunotherapy treatment – Epworth Freemasons is the second private hospital in Australia to deliver autologous stem cell transplant care and has expanded the availability of CAR T-cell therapies to patients. With a dedicated laboratory, this is an ever evolving and important service.
- Molecular Oncology and Cancer Immunology (MOCI); provides access to cutting-edge genomic testing, a range of investigator-initiated studies evaluating trends in blood cancer types and contributes to nationally recognised blood cancer data registries to support benchmarking of clinical care and research.
- Haematology Clinical Trials Unit; delivers industry sponsored clinical trials to increase treatment options available for patients with blood cancer at Epworth.
- Academic Education- supports the training of the next generation of clinicians and researchers, including haematology registrars who are the future of blood cancer management and care.
- Point of Care CAR-T; develops innovative new technologies for the on-site production of cellular therapeutics and the provision of these to patients via investigator initiated clinical trials.
The Business Operations and Innovation Director will be the key interface between the ECISL, Epworth Freemasons and the wider Epworth Group, whilst holding operational leadership for the CTU. Working within a well-established framework, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all existing and new ECISL services at Epworth Freemasons are aligned with strategy, operating to budget and clinically safe so we can continue to deliver groundbreaking blood cancer care.
The Business Operations and Innovation Director will also support ECISL operational and financial reporting requirements, both internally to the Epworth Executive, and to funding bodies and donors, including the Epworth Medical Foundation and the Snowdome Foundation as key partners.
T
o be suitable, you will have;
- Tertiary qualification in management or business, or relevant Clinical field.
- Senior management experience in healthcare and/or pharmaceutical industry.
- Substantial relationship and people management skills.
- Advanced financial management and business management skills
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to develop strong business case submissions to support new initiatives/changes.
- Demonstrated experience is establishment of new services
- Ability to challenge current practices and develop and promote new innovative systems.
