The Opportunity
We’re seeking a strategic, financially skilled individual to join our founding team as Chief Financial Officer (CFO). This is a volunteer position during our pre-revenue phase, best suited for someone passionate about early-stage ventures, education, and the music tech ecosystem. As part of the founding team, you will help design the financial structure that drives SeshNx from concept to scale.
Key Responsibilities
Develop comprehensive financial models, forecasts, and scenario plans
Define and implement accounting, compliance, and reporting systems
Lead fundraising strategy and investor engagement (grants, pre-seed, and partnerships)
Advise on pricing, monetization, and market expansion strategies
Contribute to business plan refinement and investor materials
Collaborate closely with the CEO and product leads on strategic decision-making
Qualifications
Proven background in finance, accounting, or startup operations
Experience with early-stage fundraising, budgeting, and financial modeling
Understanding of SaaS, marketplace, or edtech business models preferred
Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to operate effectively in a lean, fast-moving environment
Compensation
This is a volunteer role during SeshNx’s pre-revenue stage. Equity and/or future compensation may be negotiated upon successful funding or revenue milestones.
