Joe Adsett Group is a vertically integrated property group having grown from a nationally recognised architectural practice into a developer and builder of luxury residential properties. We deliver award-winning residential and multi-residential projects. With a strong development pipeline and a newly created construction capability, we are seeking an experienced and strategic CFO to join the leadership team.
This role is central to shaping the financial and commercial foundation of the group as it enters its next growth phase. The focus is on strategic finance, capital structuring, development funding, financial discipline, and cashflow management across multiple projects and entities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead financial strategy for the group, with a focus on property development structuring and funding pathways.
- Working closely with our development managers to model feasibility, returns, cashflows, and project economics across the development pipeline.
- Manage project and corporate finance relationships, including banks and private capital.
- Oversee cashflow forecasting and financial risk management across multiple projects and entities.
- Develop and implement cost management discipline and financial controls suited to a construction and development environment.
- Work closely with the development and construction teams to align contracts, procurement, progress claims, and delivery programs with financial strategy.
- In conjunction with our external tax advisors, lead tax planning, group structuring, and compliance for the group.
- Manage statutory reporting, corporate governance, risk, insurance, and financial policies at group level.
About You
We are seeking someone who can hit the ground running so you will bring strong experience in property development and construction.
You will have:
- Significant experience in property development, construction, infrastructure, or a related project-based environment.
- Sound understanding of Australian income tax particularly as relevant to property development, construction contracts, land acquisitions, special purpose entities, GST, and capital gains.
- Experience with private capital and AFSL compliance is desirable but not essential
- Proven capability in cashflow management, forecasting, and scenario planning.
- Experience in cost control disciplines and commercial management within construction or large project settings.
- Experience working with banks, financiers, or private capital partners in funding negotiations.
- CA or CPA qualification preferred.
