Centacare, an agency of the Catholic Archdiocese of Brisbane, has approximately 2,600 employees operating from over 200 locations throughout Queensland. They help to deliver quality essential services in aged care, family and community services, homelessness and mental health, early childhood education and pastoral ministries. The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is leading the organisation through a program of modernisation, cultural renewal and strategic growth. He is seeking a commercially astute, finance professional to assist him in bringing the strategic plans to life to reinvigorate Centacare and genuinely transform it to reach its potential.
Reporting directly to the CEO, this critical role will help shape Centacare’s future. Overseeing financial operations, strategy, planning and financial reporting whilst also establishing and leading a contemporary, best-practice procurement function are key duties. A hands-on leader who thrives in complexity, is energised by transformation, and understands how to build trust and momentum across diverse stakeholders is required.

- Leadership, Accountability & Confidence: Your assured, confident leadership will allow you to win the hearts and minds of your team, earning their respect and trust to embrace the transformation journey that is occurring. A firm, fair leader who sets clear expectations and holds the team accountable for outcomes is needed.
- Cultural Renewal: A cultural reset is being implemented by the CEO, as a key Executive team member you must live and breath it, in all your actions and decisions.
- Modernising Systems & Processes: You will drive a major systems overhaul implementing contemporary finance, payroll and rostering systems overcoming currents gaps and manual processes that delay the ability to provide timely and accurate financial information.
- Operational Understanding and business growth: Invest time understanding each operational business unit working closely with Executives, to challenge the status quo, before helping to develop a streamlined, more efficient operation leading to profitable business growth and quality services being delivered to customers.
A seasoned, experienced qualified financial leader who has worked in larger, complex geographical spread organisations will thrive in this opportunity. Strong commercial acumen and demonstrated success in financial transformation along with knowledge of government funding, procurement and regulatory frameworks will lead to your success.
Your confidence, humility and authentic, hands-on leadership style coupled high EQ to engage, influence and build trust with the team is required.
