Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Company Overview: We are a leading multi-disciplinary, Iowa-based logistics provider across multiple U.S. locations with annual revenue in the $65 to $100 million range. The Company delivers customized, technology-driven supply chain solutions to clients worldwide. We are looking to supercharge our financial organization around the right managerial financial leader. This is a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
Position Summary: The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, reporting directly to the CEO. This role is responsible for overseeing all financial operations, providing strategic financial guidance, and driving sustainable growth in a dynamic logistics environment. The CFO will partner with operational leaders to optimize financial performance, manage risk, and support acquisitions, expansions, and investments in facilities and technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the company's financial strategy, including long-term planning, budgeting, forecasting, and capital allocation to support business growth and operational efficiency.
- Oversee accounting, treasury, tax, audit, and financial reporting functions to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery of financial statements.
- Manage cash flow, liquidity, and financing activities, including banking relationships, debt management, and investment decisions.
- Provide financial insights and analysis to inform strategic decisions, such as facility expansions, acquisitions, transportation fleet investments, and technology implementations.
- Lead risk management efforts, including insurance, compliance with regulatory requirements, and mitigation of financial risks in supply chain operations.
- Collaborate with the executive team on M&A activities, due diligence, and integration of new business units.
- Drive process improvements in financial systems and controls to enhance scalability in a multi-location, high-growth environment.
- Build and mentor a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Prepare and present financial reports to the leadership team, partners, and external stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA preferred.
- CPA or equivalent certification strongly preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, including 5+ years as CFO or senior finance executive.
- Experience in logistics, transportation, warehousing, or supply chain industry highly desirable.
- Proven success in privately held, multi-site, growth-oriented companies with acquisitions.
- Expertise in financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and ERP systems.
- Strong operational partnership skills to translate data into business strategy.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and influencing abilities.
- Hands-on, analytical mindset suited to a fast-paced environment.
