Position Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to oversee all financial operations of our organization, with a strong focus on commodity hedging, risk management, and banking relationships. The ideal candidate will bring deep financial acumen, leadership capability, and the ability to guide the company’s financial strategy in a dynamic commodities environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes to support company growth and profitability.
- Provide insight and recommendations to the CEO and executive team on financial performance, long-term planning, and operational efficiency.
- Oversee preparation and analysis of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
- Commodity Hedging & Risk Management
- Develop and manage the company’s commodity risk management and hedging strategies to protect margins and stabilize earnings.
- Analyze market trends, monitor exposure, and execute hedging transactions (futures, options, swaps, etc.) aligned with company objectives.
- Maintain relationships with commodity brokers and trading partners to ensure best execution and compliance.
- Banking & Financial Relationships
- Build and maintain strong banking and lender relationships to secure favorable credit terms and support business expansion.
- Manage debt facilities, cash flow, and liquidity to optimize working capital and financial stability.
- Negotiate financing agreements, credit lines, and capital structures that align with company goals.
- Corporate Governance & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory, tax, and audit requirements.
- Oversee external audits and coordinate with external advisors and legal counsel as needed.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting team to achieve high performance and accountability.
- Foster a culture of transparency, integrity, and continuous improvement within the finance function.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
- 8 years of progressive financial leadership experience, including at least 5 years in a CFO, Controller, or senior finance role.
- Proven experience with commodity hedging and financial risk management strategies.
