RK Group, in collaboration with a leading global footwear brand, is launching a new e-commerce sportswear & athletics venture. We are looking for a hands-on Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to set up, lead, and scale the complete finance function from the ground up.
This is a foundational CFO role with strong ownership across controllership, finance operations, compliance, and business finance, especially within a high-volume e-commerce / marketplace environment.
Key Responsibilities
Finance Function Setup & Leadership
- Build and lead core finance functions: controllership, treasury, taxation, finance operations, and business finance
- Hire, mentor, and scale the finance team
- Define key financial metrics and build dashboards for performance tracking
Strategic Finance Partner to CEO
- Drive annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning
- Evaluate business performance, operational risks, and working capital needs
- Present financial insights, MIS, and board-level reports
- Manage treasury operations and liaise with banks and financial institutions
E-commerce & Marketplace Finance Operations
- Oversee end-to-end marketplace finance including settlements, reconciliations, collections, claims, returns, and leakages
- Manage relationships with marketplaces and brand partners
- Improve processes through automation, cost optimization, and service quality
Governance, Controls & Compliance
- Ensure statutory, regulatory, audit, and tax compliance (GST, TDS, etc.)
- Establish robust internal controls, SOPs, and accounting policies
- Build a process-led, data-first finance organization
Ideal Candidate Profile
- CA with 10–15 years of experience, including strong exposure to e-commerce / retail / consumer brands
- Proven experience setting up finance processes for a new or scaling business
- Strong controllership background with hands-on execution mindset
- Excellent stakeholder management and leadership skills
- Experience in fashion / footwear e-commerce is a strong plus
