Job Title: Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Sportswear and Athletics Division (e-commerce)
The Opportunity: RK Group in collaboration with a leading global footwear brand is setting up a new venture to run e-commerce operations for the brand. For the same, we are looking to hire an experienced Chief Financial Officer - someone who can help setup the financial processes and team to build and scale this venture. The ideal candidate (CA with 10-15 years of experience) must have strong experience across controllership, finance operations and business finance in a mid to large e-commerce setup, preferably on the seller side.
Key Responsibilities:
Setting up the finance function:
- Build the key functions required for finance: controllership, treasury, business finance, finance operations, taxation, etc. The first year of setting up will be skewed more towards controllership.
- Support in hiring and training of employees for these functions.
- Define key financial metrics and develop dashboards to track these metrics.
Acting as the strategic finance partner to CEO:
- Develop annual budget in coordination with senior management.
- Ensure that budgeting and day-to-day operational processes are aligned with company’s long term goals.
- Evaluate financial performance and key metrics. Evaluate operational risks on a regular basis. Present financial and business insights to stakeholders.
- Manage treasury operations and working capital requirements.
- Liaison with banks and financial institutions.
Smooth running of e-commerce finance operations:
- Oversee finance operations, focusing on efficient service delivery with excellent quality. Minimize leakages: collections and claims as per SLA, returns optimization and management, etc.
- Manage relationships with stakeholders in marketplaces and with the brand partners.
- Optimize processes through efficiency, cost reduction and service quality improvement.
- Ensure adherence to regulations, policies, and procedures while upholding internal controls.
- Automate operational processes to reduce cost and increase efficiency and accuracy.
Ensuring financial compliance:
- Ensure all financial compliances (statutory, audits, regulatory reporting) are adhered to as per timelines and accurately.
- Develop strong internal financial controls. Document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
Creating a process led data-first organization:
- Help the CEO in developing SOPs for running the business, with minimal exceptions.
- Ensure timely and accurate MIS reporting with actionable insights for the Board of Directors.
- Support in creating a data first organization and making data-based decisions. Implement the right technology and optimal automation solutions for control and efficiency.
Qualifications and Experience:
- CA from a Tier – I institute in Finance with 10-15 years of experience, at least a few years in an e-commerce setup.
- Proven leadership in managing all finance functions. Should be willing to get involved in detail in the setting up process, especially on the finance controllership part.
- Prior experience in setting up finance processes for a new entity, especially in an e-commerce setup is preferred. Experience in fashion category e-commerce (esp. footwear) is an added advantage.
- Must have excellent knowledge of financial processes and compliance requirements.
- Should have exceptional interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
Location: Bangalore, with travel as required.
Reporting to: Chief Executive Officer.
Compensation: Competitive and commensurate with experience. For the right candidate, compensation is not a constraint.
