About Us
We are a rapidly growing garment company based in New York City, supplying major retail partners and expanding our footprint both domestically and internationally. We are seeking a highly experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our leadership team and oversee all financial operations as we continue to scale.
Position Overview
The CFO will be responsible for managing the company's overall financial strategy, accounting operations, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance. This individual will serve as a key business partner to ownership and senior management, bringing strong financial discipline, operational insight, and industry experience within the garment or consumer products sector.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead all financial operations including accounting, AP/AR, cash flow management, and financial reporting.
• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.
• Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial planning.
• Prepare, analyze, and present financial statements to ownership and stakeholders.
• Manage relationships with lenders, factoring companies, auditors, and outside consultants.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and all federal, state, and local tax requirements.
• Implement internal controls, improve processes, and optimize operational efficiency.
• Oversee inventory costing, margin analysis, and production financials specific to the garment industry.
• Provide financial leadership on pricing, purchasing, vendor negotiations, and cost-saving initiatives.
• Support strategic decision-making, growth initiatives, and potential M&A.
• Manage, mentor, and develop the internal accounting/finance team.
Qualifications
• 10+ years' progressive accounting/finance experience, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Industry experience in apparel, garment manufacturing, wholesale, or consumer products required.
• Strong understanding of inventory, costing, margins, and production cycles.
• CPA or MBA preferred but not required.
• Experience working with factoring arrangements and large retail partners (Walmart, Target, etc.) a strong plus.
• Strong proficiency with accounting systems (QuickBooks Enterprise, NetSuite, BlueCherry, or similar).
• Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
• Bilingual in mandarin
