Our client, an established and growing homebuilder/developer in Calgary, is looking for a full-time CFO (Chief Financial Officer) to join their senior leadership team.
Responsibilities
- Team development and performance management, driving ongoing process optimization and growth, set clear benchmarks for group and individual achievements, and conduct periodic progress assessments.
- Overseeing long-term planning and capital strategy, guiding multi-year growth initiatives, create pathways for external funding partnerships, and lead efforts in structuring and securing project financing; serve as a key advisor and company spokesperson with senior stakeholders.
- Managing complex deals, partnership frameworks and financial models tailored for joint ventures; ensure adherence to relevant compliance requirements and maximize funding opportunities through critical project phases.
- Overseeing financial operations & risk management, implementing proactive financial oversight to identify emerging trends; enhance stability and forecasting practices; mentor team members and cultivate continuous enhancement of organizational practices.
- Project coordination, building relationships, ensure operational alignment with financial plans for smooth project delivery; oversee project execution processes integrating fiscal controls; maintain robust engagement with financial institutions and trade counterparts, and serve as lead negotiator for key discussions.
Qualifications
- Extensive experience with Construction Project Financing Draws/Progress Draws, complex financing arrangements with multiple lending partners/investors and a complex multi-entity structure including Limited and General Partnerships, Joint Ventures, and OpCo's/HoldCo's;
- Extensive experience as a VP Finance and/or previous experience as a CFO, in an entrepreneurial development/construction business or similar project-based industry;
- CPA designation is a must, and an MBA or CFA would be a definite asset.
Please note this position will be a fully in-office/on-site position based in a Calgary office, and will require the candidate's presence in-office 5 days/wk, but with flexibility as needed.
