Job Title: Chief Financial Officer
Location: Newark, NJ with initial hybrid/remote arrangements
Compensation: Competitive base salary ($230,000+) plus participation in Management Incentive Plan, all commensurate with experience.
Major responsibilities include:
· Lead development and structuring of Finance and Accounting teams and oversee and manage all day-to-day activities
· Review and oversee all GAAP and non-GAAP management reporting (including normalized EBITDA bridges, management cash flow and other reporting tools)
· Review, understand and direct all accounting policies and procedures, consistent with standard practices in the trucking industry
· Oversee EVO’s improvement of financial controls
· Working in consultation with CEO, design, build and/or oversee company’s detailed, bottoms-up financial model and maintain throughout the year
· Lead company’s budgeting process and track progress and variances
· Oversee development of KPIs and develop regular reporting for management, the Board and investors
· Lead financial planning and analysis function including but not limited to analyzing financial statements and producing variance analyses and earnings bridges
· Liquidity planning reporting and management, including 13 week cash flow forecasts
· Oversee company’s Treasury function and manage banking and investor relationships, with a familiarity with factoring
· Overseeing capital raises including equipment financing, bank refinancing and other capital market activities
· Participate on Pricing Committee, review and approve all bidding activity and support business development efforts
· Develop and oversee regular contract review and profitability analysis
· Oversee integration of ERP with other operating reports and systems, namely TMS and shop management system
· Oversee and negotiate company’s insurance and benefit programs
· Oversee company’s tax planning and analysis
· Assist with company’s corporate reorganization activities
Position Requirements:
· Excellent technical knowledge of GAAP accounting principles and practices, including standard accrual practices in the trucking industry for peer companies and ability to manage company’s audit
· Experience working with Netsuite and working with and integrating Finance functions with TMS and other operating reporting platforms and products
· Forecasting and budgeting experience, including 13 week cash flow forecasts
· Liquidity management skills and familiarity with factoring
· Experience in cost accounting and analyzing unit level economics and business profitability
· Financial modeling skills is a must – YOU will be responsible for the company’s financial model
· Driven, hard working and accessible – if you do not respond to quick e-mails on a Sunday or do not check your phone after 6pm, this position is not for you
· Experience producing reports and presentations for Board and investors
Not required but advantageous:
· Trucking industry experience
· Public company experience
· Investment banking, restructuring or consulting experience
· This position is expected to be a right-hand to the CEO with high touch interaction and collaboration
