Chief Financial Officer
Our client is a well established Canadian professional services organization. They are hiring a Chief Financial Officer to partner closely with the executive leadership team and board and help lead the next phase of growth.
This is a high impact CFO role with meaningful influence across finance, planning, and enterprise decision making. You will modernize reporting and forecasting, strengthen performance insights across a project based environment, and champion finance systems evolution including an upcoming implementation. Over time, this role will expand in scope as corporate services evolve, including stronger involvement with people related decision support.
What you will do
• Lead the accounting and finance function end to end, including month end close, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and working capital
• Build and deliver board ready reporting and insights, translating financial results into clear recommendations and decisions
• Elevate planning and performance management, including scenario modeling, resourcing and utilization insights, and profitability drivers in a project based environment
• Oversee project financials and commercial cadence, including billing, WIP, AR, collections, and continuous improvement of cash conversion
• Own external relationships including auditors, tax advisors, banking partners, and key vendors, ensuring strong controls and governance
• Support growth initiatives, including evaluation, diligence, and integration planning for potential acquisitions
• Champion finance transformation and systems evolution
• Lead, coach, and scale a high performing team across accounting, FP&A, and related functions
• Partner cross functionally as scope expands over time, including stronger HR involvement and executive level people related decision support
Must haves
• 15 plus years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including senior leadership responsibility
• Canadian CPA in good standing
• Professional services industry experience
• Strong hands on capability across reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and month end close
• Board and executive presentation experience

• Public accounting background earlier in your career
• Project accounting expertise, including WIP and project margin analysis
• M&A exposure, including diligence and integration support
• Broader operational leadership experience beyond finance
Work model
This is a senior leadership role with a preference for regular in office presence, with flexibility as needed.
