Participate in meaningful work
Information Technology and Broadcast Services (IT&B) is responsible for providing accessible, secure and progressive information technology services to 87 Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs), their constituency offices, caucus offices, the Office of the Speaker and management and staff of the Legislative Assembly Office (LAO).
As the IT Telecom and Business Operations Analyst you will provide day-to-day support of telecommunication operations as well as offer technical telecommunication assistance and guidance to clients of the LAO. In this role you will support all IT business functions and services related to IT equipment inventory, reconciliation of technical assets and coordination of technical services in over 90 locations across the province.
Contribute to an engaged workplace
You support an engaged workplace by ensuring the LAO’s telephony systems function reliably and consistently. This includes supporting traditional phone services as well as modern IP telephony platforms such as cloud-based PBX systems and Microsoft Teams voice. By resolving telecommunication issues, coordinating service delivery across the province and providing clear guidance to clients, you help maintain stable and effective communication throughout the organization.
The management of LAO-issued mobile devices is another primary responsibility within this role. From onboarding new devices through Microsoft Intune to arranging repairs, replacements or election-related transitions, you provide hands-on support to clients and troubleshoot issues to keep services running smoothly. Your clear communication and client-focused assistance help users understand their devices, resolve problems quickly and maintain confidence in the tools they rely on.
The role also contributes to operational efficiency through the management of IT inventory, equipment deployments and the coordination of Internet services and multifunction printers. This includes coordinating the installation of Internet technologies for urban and rural locations, liaising with service providers to ensure commitments are met and escalating issues when needed to maintain consistent service. This work supports service continuity across LAO environments and ensures that technology resources are deployed, tracked and maintained in a timely and consistent manner.
Bring your excellence to the LAO
Your background includes a postsecondary degree/diploma in information technology, business or a related field and two years of related experience providing support for clients in telecommunications or information technology.
You are a highly organized, detail-oriented professional who excels in environments where accuracy, reliability and clear communication are essential. Your strong interpersonal skills allow you to support clients with patience, sound judgment and a solutions-focused mindset even when challenges arise.
You bring adaptability, resourcefulness and the ability to respond effectively to changing technical needs and service demands. Your intrinsic motivation, reliable follow-through and focus on clear documentation and continuous improvement help ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery across the LAO.
You have strong working knowledge of traditional and modern telephony systems, mobile device management tools, Internet technologies and Microsoft Office applications. Your ability to translate technical information into clear, accessible guidance supports clients in understanding and using the tools essential to their work.
