Chief Financial Officer
Position Summary
The
Chief Financial Officer will serve as the company’s senior financial executive, responsible for overseeing all financial operations, establishing financial strategy, and ensuring the company’s long-term fiscal health. This role requires a leader with strong analytical capability, exceptional communication skills, deep experience in consumer products or apparel, and the ability to operate in a dynamic and evolving environment.
The CFO will lead all financial planning and reporting, manage banking relationships, drive operational efficiencies, and partner closely with the CEO, the leadership team, and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and execute the company’s financial strategy in alignment with company growth objectives.
- Serve as a key advisor to the CEO and leadership team, providing insights into financial performance, risks, and opportunities.
- Lead long-range planning, annual budgeting, and forecasting processes.
Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Oversee all financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements.
- Ensure timely, accurate, and compliant financial reporting following GAAP standards.
- Present financial results and analysis to the CEO, executive team, and Board of Directors.
- Establish and maintain internal controls, financial policies, and audit frameworks.
- Coordinate annual financial audits and manage relationships with external auditors.
Banking Relationships & Treasury Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all banking partners.
- Manage and negotiate credit facilities, loan agreements, and covenant reporting.
- Optimize cash flow, cash management, and liquidity planning for ongoing operations and seasonal working capital needs.
- Lead treasury activities including cash forecasting, account management, and hedging strategies where applicable.
- Build strong, long-term banking relationships that support the company’s strategic direction and financial resilience.
Operational Finance & Business Partnership
- Partner with Operations, Sales, and Supply Chain to improve inventory management, gross margin performance, and operational efficiency.
- Provide financial modeling, scenario analysis, and decision support for key initiatives, including new product launches, channel expansion, and potential M&A activity.
- Oversee cost accounting, pricing strategies, and profitability analysis by product and customer.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead and develop the Finance & Accounting team, promoting professional growth and a culture of accuracy, accountability, and collaboration.
- Strengthen processes, systems, and analytics to support scale, efficiency, and improved decision-making.
- Provide mentorship and oversight to the HR/Payroll or IT functions if they roll under Finance (optional based on the company’s structure).
Risk Management & Corporate Governance
- Identify and mitigate financial, operational, and compliance risks.
- Maintain appropriate insurance coverage and risk management policies.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and international regulations as applicable to an apparel and manufacturing business.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or CPA strongly preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive finance and leadership experience, ideally within apparel, consumer goods, or manufacturing.
- Demonstrated success managing banking relationships, credit facilities, and treasury functions.
- Proven track record in financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and operational finance.
- Experience in a company with both wholesale and e-commerce channels is a strong plus.
- Strong analytical mindset, business acumen, and communication skills.
- Ability to operate at both strategic and hands-on levels in a fast-paced environment.
Salary
$350,000-$400,000 + 35% bonus
