Chief Revenue Officer (CRO)

Salary: £150,000 – £200,000 + Equity + Bonus
Reporting to: CEO
A CEO-type commercial role, without the CEO baggage.
A high-growth, tech-enabled business is looking for a commercially sharp, execution-focused leader to help drive its next phase of scale. This is not a technical role. It’s not a hands-on sales leadership role either.
This is for someone who wants to own the commercial engine, drive performance across multiple routes to market, and help scale a business from £17m EBITDA to £50m over the next few years.
The challenge?
The strategy is in place. The business is growing fast. Now the question is:
How do we keep the engine running at speed and maximise the value coming through it?
That’s where this role comes in.
What this person will do
This role sits above day-to-day selling and is responsible for turning strategy into commercial outcomes.
You’ll be focused on:
- Driving revenue and EBITDA growth
- Interrogating the data to find where value is created or lost
- Optimising performance across all routes to market
- Working through senior leaders to keep the engine aligned and moving
- Holding teams accountable for delivery, pace, and results
What the business looks like
- Strong existing EBITDA base of £17m
- Ambition to scale toward £50m EBITDA
- Forecast has already doubled
- 5 routes to market (4 live today)
- Distribution network of 60 UK partners
- Direct and acquisition-led growth expected to increase significantly
- Significant commercial upside still to unlock
Who this is likely to suit
This will appeal to someone who has already operated at:
- CEO
- MD
- Divisional leadership
- Senior commercial leadership
…and who is more energised by:
- growth
- commercial performance
- value creation
- execution at pace
…than by carrying the full weight and complexity of a CEO seat.
The right profile will likely be:
- Commercially obsessive and highly analytical
- Comfortable in PE-backed, founder-led, or high-growth environments
- Strong on organic growth, not just M&A
- Credible at board level, but still close enough to the engine to challenge what the numbers are really saying
- Hungry, sharp, and excited by building something materially bigger
What’s on offer
- £150,000 – £200,000 base
- Meaningful equity with serious upside
- Executive-level scope and visibility
- A genuine opportunity to help shape the next phase of a fast-scaling business
