Are you an organised, proactive operations professional with exceptional scheduling capability and a passion for supporting high‑performing teams?
RSM Australia is seeking a Business Operations Manager to support our Audit & Assurance division in Perth.
This role is ideal for someone who has previously worked as an auditor , understands the rhythm of busy audit seasons, and is now looking to step into a key operations and workforce leadership role within the practice.
As a member of our leadership group, you will partner closely with Partners, Directors and Managers to drive operational efficiency, optimise resource planning, and influence positive change across the audit practice.
Resource Planning & Workforce Management
Take ownership of staff scheduling across audit engagements, ensuring efficient allocation and balancing competing priorities.
Use data‑driven insights to forecast capacity needs, anticipate bottlenecks, and proactively resolve scheduling challenges.
Maintain oversight of utilisation metrics to support timely and effective delivery.
Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
Performance & Development Support
Coordinate the performance review process, including goal setting, feedback collection and tracking development actions.
Foster a positive, growth‑oriented team culture focused on continuous improvement.
Operational Excellence & Process Improvement
Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, reduce administrative load, and improve operational efficiency.
Support internal initiatives aimed at enhancing quality and improving overall productivity.
Client & Business Support
Assist Partners and Directors with tender preparation, proposals and client onboarding activities.
Ensure operational readiness when new engagements commence.
Team Collaboration & Change Enablement
Act as a key liaison across the audit leadership group to support strategic and operational priorities.
Champion change initiatives and contribute to a collaborative, inclusive team environment.
About you:
Experience in operations, project coordination or resource management within a professional services environment. Prior experience in audit or accounting, particularly understanding busy seasons, engagement lifecycles and utilisation pressures, is highly beneficial.
Confident scheduling and workforce planning capability. You are skilled in allocating staff across competing priorities and comfortable using scheduling, resourcing or project management tools to optimise capacity and drive effective delivery.
Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills. You build trusted relationships with Partners, Directors, Managers and broader teams, and can confidently influence decisions in a fast‑paced environment.
Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines, coordinate several streams of work and maintain attention to detail under pressure.
A passion for improving processes and systems. You enjoy finding smarter ways of working, implementing new tools, and using data, such as utilisation or productivity metrics—to inform decisions and improve operational performance.
A proactive, structured and adaptable working style. You thrive when juggling competing priorities and are committed to delivering high‑quality outcomes consistently.
