Job Description
We’re hiring a Business Operations Specialist to support the operational backbone of the company. This role sits at the intersection of People Ops, Payroll, and Finance, and is ideal for someone who thrives on keeping systems clean, processes running smoothly, and employees supported throughout their lifecycle.
You’ll own day-to-day operational workflows including payroll tooling, Justworks administration, onboarding/offboarding, benefits support, and light accounting coordination.
People & Payroll Operations
- Manage employee onboarding and offboarding in Justworks, including new hire setup, terminations, and access coordination
- Administer benefits enrollment, life events, and employee questions related to benefits and payroll
- Support payroll tooling and ensure accurate employee data, changes, and approvals are processed on time
- Act as a point of contact for employees on operational questions related to payroll, benefits, and HR systems
Business & Finance Operations
- Support basic accounting workflows such as invoice processing, expense tracking, and vendor coordination
- Assist with payroll reporting and reconciliations in partnership with Finance
- Help maintain operational documentation, SOPs, and internal process guides
- Track operational tasks and ensure deadlines and compliance requirements are met
Cross-Functional Support
- Partner closely with Finance, People Ops, and leadership to improve operational efficiency
- Identify process gaps and help implement scalable, repeatable solutions
- Support ad-hoc operational and administrative projects as needed
Qualifications
Who You Are
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and process-driven
- Comfortable owning operational tasks end-to-end without a lot of hand-holding
- Confident working across payroll systems, HR tools, and finance processes
- A clear communicator who enjoys supporting employees and internal teams
- Able to balance multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment
Must Haves:
- 3+ years of experience in operations, business operations, HR operations, or similar roles
- Hands-on experience with Justworks or similar HRIS/payroll platforms strongly preferred
- Familiarity with payroll processes, benefits administration, and employee lifecycle workflows
- Exposure to basic accounting or finance operations (AP, expenses, reconciliations)
- Strong attention to detail and comfort working with systems and documentation
Nice to Have:
- Experience in a startup or high-growth environment
- Comfort working cross-functionally with Finance and People teams
- Interest in growing deeper into business or people operations over time
