With a rapidly growing portfolio of in-licensed prescription medicines, Kye has an immediate opening for a Director, Alliance Management & Business Operations. The successful candidate will join a team of highly motivated professionals committed to building a growth-stage organization with start-up agility based on scientific and medical integrity.
The Director, Alliance Management & Business Operations will serve as a strategic integrator, leading licensing partner relationships while driving cross-functional commercial and operational execution across the organization.
Reporting to the President, the successful candidate will join an entrepreneurial team with high accountability to drive coordination and delivery across internal teams and external partners.
Compensation will be based on the candidate’s experience, background, and qualifications. The compensation range for this role is $120,000 – $160,000. The role is eligible for additional forms of compensation, such as participation in the Kye Bonus Program.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a senior integrator across business operations and alliance management, ensuring alignment between corporate priorities, operational execution, and partner expectations
- Lead day-to-day management of strategic licensing partnerships, acting as the primary point of accountability for governance, performance oversight, and partner engagement
- Collaborate with leadership and functional teams (Commercial, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Market Access, Supply Chain, Finance, Legal) to align priorities and support execution of key initiatives
- Establish and manage alliance governance structures, including joint management committees, performance reviews, milestone tracking, and executive reporting
- Support onboarding and integration of newly licensed products or partners, ensuring operational readiness and alignment from deal close through steady-state execution
- Develop and continuously improve operational, reporting, and governance frameworks to increase visibility, accountability, and execution quality
- Apply structured project management skills to manage timelines, dependencies, risks, and deliverables across internal operational and alliance-related initiatives
- Lead change initiatives related to business and commercial systems (e.g., analytics, CRM, reporting), coordinating resources to design and improve processes and tools
- Identify cross-functional bottlenecks and proactively recommend mitigation strategies
- Prepare and present decision-oriented updates for leadership and external partners
- Preparation of presentations and materials for Board and Shareholder meetings
Required Qualifications
- MBA and/or bachelor’s degree in business, life sciences, or a related field; advanced degree an asset
- 8–12 years of progressive experience in pharmaceutical, life sciences, management consulting, or similarly complex corporate environments
- Demonstrated experience in commercial operations, business operations, alliance management, or enterprise-level program management
- Proven ability to operate across strategic and executive levels, translating leadership direction into coordinated action
- Strong project management and orchestration skills, with the ability to manage multiple, interdependent initiatives
- Experience working directly with executive leadership and influencing across functions without formal authority
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level synthesis and presentation
- Experience leading or managing change initiatives involving business processes, analytics, or commercial systems including coordination with technical teams or external vendors
- High tolerance for ambiguity and complexity, with a track record of imposing structure and driving outcomes
- Proficiency with business productivity and reporting tools (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI; project management platforms an asset)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a Canadian pharmaceutical or specialty life sciences organization
- Direct experience managing licensing partnerships or strategic alliances
- Exposure to commercial planning, launch readiness, portfolio operations, or business planning processes
- Familiarity with Canadian regulatory, market access, and commercialization dynamics
- Strong analytical capability and comfort with performance reporting and dashboards
