Business Systems Analyst – Revenue Recognition (Contract‑to‑Hire)
Location: Fully Remote (East Coast preferred)
Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST (1‑hour lunch)
Hours: 40 hours per week; occasional weekend support may be required during deployments or critical project milestones
Engagement Type: 6‑month contract with intent to convert to full‑time employment
Pay Rate: $60 to $67
Position Summary
The Davis Companies is seeking an experienced Business Systems Analyst – Revenue Recognition to support, enhance, and scale its enterprise revenue recognition ecosystem across Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365), Oracle, and Zuora Revenue (RevPro). This role will partner closely with Finance, Quote‑to‑Cash, Product Operations, and Business Applications teams to deliver compliant, automated, and scalable revenue solutions aligned with ASC 606 / IFRS 15 requirements.
This position is part of the Receivables & Revenue application portfolio, a high‑visibility function responsible for critical initiatives including ERP modernization, revenue automation, PSA integrations, and IPO readiness. The ideal candidate brings deep functional expertise in revenue recognition, hands‑on RevPro experience, and the ability to operate effectively within complex, multi‑system environments.
Key Responsibilities
Requirements Analysis & User Story Development
- Elicit, analyze, and document business and functional requirements related to revenue recognition and Order‑to‑Cash processes
- Develop and refine user stories covering contract creation, amendments, renewals, terminations, and revenue release events
- Analyze existing system integrations and document build‑ready enhancements across Salesforce–RevPro, D365–RevPro, and Oracle–RevPro integrations
Zuora RevPro Solution Design & Support
- Design and recommend Zuora RevPro configurations aligned with revenue policies, PSA offerings, and multi‑element arrangements
- Support the design and implementation of revenue recognition methodologies, including percentage‑of‑completion and milestone‑based models
- Collaborate with technical teams on ETL design, data mapping, transformation rules, and iPaaS logic required for accurate RevPro data ingestion
Data Integration & System Flow Management
- Partner with Salesforce CPQ, D365, Oracle, and integration platform teams (e.g., Informatica, iHub) to ensure accurate synchronization of contract, invoice, and general ledger data into RevPro
- Troubleshoot and resolve data issues including missing invoices, repulled sales order lines, and transformation or template errors across revenue systems
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Receivables & Revenue, Order‑to‑Cash, Product Operations, and Finance leadership to deliver roadmap initiatives and strategic application solutions
- Partner with Quality Assurance teams to define test plans, support SIT and UAT cycles, validate revenue schedules, and ensure end‑to‑end revenue flow completeness
Process Improvement & Strategic Contribution
- Contribute to future‑state revenue automation and modernization initiatives, including forecasting integrations and data migration readiness
- Advocate for standardization, transparency, and control across revenue processes, particularly during SKU creation and contract configuration
Required Qualifications
- Strong hands‑on experience with Zuora Revenue (RevPro), including:
- Revenue arrangement creation
- Event processing
- Templates and SSP rules
- Revenue waterfall logic
- GL journal generation
- In‑depth knowledge of ASC 606 and/or IFRS 15 revenue recognition standards
- Experience working across complex, integrated enterprise financial system landscapes
- Hands‑on experience with:
- Salesforce order and contract structures
- Microsoft Dynamics 365 and/or Oracle financial modules (AR, GL)
- ETL and system integration mapping and validation
- Proven ability to produce clear functional design specifications, data flow diagrams, and integration documentation
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and business stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Professional Services Automation (PSA) platforms such as Certinia
- Familiarity with ETL and integration tools including Informatica or iHub
- Exposure to GL consolidation, revenue forecasting integrations, or ERP modernization initiatives
- Understanding of upstream product and SKU configuration and its downstream impact on revenue recognition
