Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Role Overview
The Chief Financial Officer will serve as a strategic and operational finance leader responsible for building a scalable, high-performance finance organization and establishing best-in-class financial infrastructure to support rapid growth, margin expansion, and strong cash generation.
This role is both transformational and hands-on, with clear expectations to upgrade talent, implement rigorous financial and operational controls, improve working capital visibility, and support the company’s continued expansion. The CFO will act as a proactive business partner to the CEO and Executive Leadership Team, providing disciplined financial leadership, operational insight, and value-creation support across the organization.
The ideal candidate brings deep experience operating in high-growth manufacturing environments, preferably within organizations with revenues exceeding $200M, and understands the complexity of scaling operations, managing cost structures, and supporting rapid revenue growth. Experience preparing for and executing a successful exit is required.
Build and Lead a High-Performing Finance Organization
- Conduct a comprehensive assessment of the Finance and Accounting organization, identifying strengths, capability gaps, and opportunities to upgrade talent.
- Recruit, develop, and lead high-caliber leaders across Controllership, FP&A, and operational finance, building a scalable finance organization that can support rapid growth.
- Establish Finance as a trusted, proactive business partner to Operations, Supply Chain, and Sales, delivering insights that drive margin expansion, operational efficiency, and execution excellence.
Build Decision-Grade Financial Infrastructure
- Establish a repeatable, GAAP-compliant monthly close process delivering timely and accurate financial statements.
- Implement and maintain a rolling 13-week cash flow forecast with strong accountability and variance management.
- Define and institutionalize a standardized EBITDA definition and adjustment framework.
- Lead structured monthly business reviews with executive leaders, tying financial performance to operational drivers such as production capacity, pricing, labor, and supply chain costs.
- Deploy automated KPIs, dashboards, and business intelligence tools to enhance operational visibility and decision-making across the organization.
- Ensure clean annual audits and maintain strong financial controls and compliance.
Lead Budgeting, Forecasting, and Long-Range Planning
- Implement a disciplined quarterly rolling forecast process to support dynamic decision-making in a hypergrowth environment.
- Lead a bottoms-up Annual Operating Plan aligned with production capacity, cost structures, and revenue growth initiatives.
- Develop and maintain a multi-year long-range financial plan aligned with the company’s strategic priorities and growth trajectory.
- Partner closely with the CEO and Operations leadership to drive accountability around financial and operational performance.
Drive Working Capital Optimization and Cash Generation
- Establish and monitor core working capital metrics including DSO, DPO, DIO, inventory turns, and cash conversion cycle.
- Strengthen receivables management through disciplined billing, collections processes, and credit management.
- Optimize payables and vendor management strategies to support liquidity and operational flexibility.
- Improve inventory controls and forecasting processes to reduce excess inventory and improve cash conversion.
Strengthen Cost Visibility and Operational Profitability
- Implement robust cost accounting and margin analytics across products, customers, and production lines.
- Develop profitability reporting that provides clear insight into manufacturing costs, pricing strategies, and contribution margins.
- Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams to identify opportunities for margin improvement and cost optimization.
- Embed financial insights into operational decision-making to support sustainable growth and profitability.
Support Strategic Growth and Value Creation
- Ensure the finance organization is equipped to support rapid scaling, operational complexity, and future strategic initiatives.
- Strengthen financial reporting and analytics capabilities to support executive decision-making and long-term planning.
- Provide leadership on capital allocation, investment analysis, and operational efficiency initiatives that support long-term value creation.
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven CFO within manufacturing or industrial businesses, preferably in high-growth environments.
- Experience operating within organizations with revenues of $200M+, including scaling finance infrastructure during periods of rapid growth.
- Demonstrated success building and upgrading finance teams and implementing scalable financial processes.
- Deep expertise in GAAP accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
- Strong experience with cost accounting, inventory management, and operational finance within manufacturing environments.
- Track record of improving working capital performance, strengthening financial controls, and supporting operational scalability.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CPA and/or MBA preferred.
