POSITION SUMMARY
This position oversees all financial aspects of the company’s portfolio, which includes real estate investments, hotel operations, and property development projects. The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) ensures the organizations’ financial health through strategic management of capital, budgeting, forecasting and investor relations. The CFO plays a keep role in shaping the growth and expansion strategy of the company within the hospitality and real estate sectors.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
• Financial Strategy & Planning: Develop and lead long-term financial strategies that support corporate objectives and sustainable growth across hotel and real estate divisions.
• Accounting & Reporting: Oversee accounting processes and the finance team, ensuring they prepare accurate and timely consolidated financial statements, and ensure full compliance with tax, and regulatory standards.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Direct the annual budget process and forecasting of all aspects of the business to optimize cash flow, profitability, and return on investment.
• Asset Management: Monitor property performance metrics (RevPAR, ADR, NOI, occupancy, valuation) and advise on repositioning, acquisitions, or divestitures.
• Capital Management: In coordination with the Director of Capital Markets, manage capital structure, debt financing, and investment models to support property acquisitions and renovations.
• Operational Leadership: Provide oversight and vision for the Finance team. Collaborate with various company business partners to align financial goals with operational excellence.
• Investor & Stakeholder Relations: In partnership with the Director of Capital Markets, maintain relationships with investors, lenders, and equity partners; lead quarterly financial reviews and investor communications.
• Risk Management: Assess and mitigate financial, market, and operational risks throughout the business; implement various financial controls. In partnership with the Director of Asset Management, ensure insurance, and compliance programs align to business needs.
• Team Leadership: Develop and mentor the finance team across and finance functions in various departments, fostering a culture of accountability and performance.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
• Bachelor’s degree in finance is preferred. MBA or CPA preferred.
• Minimum 10 years senior financial management experience, including real estate and/or hospitality sectors. Previous experience leading a accounting team is required.
• Accounting experience. Must be able to understand and relate to the entire real estate process to include, purchasing, leasing and tax credits, including historic tax credits.
• Experience managing multi-property portfolios and complex ownership structures.
• Proven background in corporate finance, capital markets and investment analysis.
• Strong communication, analytical, and negotiation skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills to include training and writing procedures.
• Flexibility and strong attention to detail in an environment with rapidly changing data.
• Provide accurate and timely completion of projects and/or reports.
• Maintenance of company information in a confidential manner.
• Daily use of computer software including Excel
