Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Department: Executive Management
Industry: Healthcare / Senior Living / Post-Acute Care
Position Overview
We are a rapidly growing healthcare organization operating multiple assisted living communities along with home health and hospice services. While our communities are licensed as assisted living, our operational and financial model closely resembles skilled nursing and post-acute healthcare environments due to the complexity of reimbursement structures and acuity of care.
We are seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) who understands both healthcare financial operations and the real estate economics of senior living facilities. The CFO will oversee corporate financial strategy as well as the financial performance of multiple healthcare facilities.
This role requires deep expertise in healthcare reimbursement, revenue cycle management, PPD-based financial modeling, and multi-facility financial oversight. The CFO will be responsible for strengthening financial systems, improving billing and collections performance, and ensuring strong financial discipline across the organization.

- Develop and monitor PPD (per patient / resident day) financial models, cost structures, and margin analysis.
- Evaluate reimbursement structures, rate models, and operational cost drivers.
- Implement financial controls and reporting systems to improve operational performance.
Revenue Cycle & Accounts Receivable
- Provide direct oversight of the entire revenue cycle including billing, collections, accounts receivable, and medical payment teams.

- Oversee regulatory reporting requirements including federal, state, and third-party reimbursement reporting.
- Coordinate with external auditors and accounting firms.
- Maintain compliance with healthcare financial regulations.
Real Estate & Facility Financial Management
- Work closely with leadership on the real estate and facility economics of the senior living business.
- Understand and evaluate lease structures, rent coverage ratios, occupancy economics, and facility cash flow.
- Assist in evaluating acquisitions, expansions, and capital planning for healthcare properties.
Operational Financial Management
- Oversee facility budgets and financial performance.
- Analyze operational costs and identify opportunities for efficiency and margin improvement.
- Develop dashboards and reporting systems to track key financial metrics across locations.
- Work closely with operations leadership to improve facility-level financial performance.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 7+ years of senior financial leadership experience in healthcare.
- Strong experience in reimbursement-driven healthcare environments such as SNF, hospitals, post-acute care, rehab, LTACH, or similar healthcare settings.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Demonstrated experience overseeing revenue cycle management, billing, and accounts receivable teams.
- Strong experience with multi-facility financial oversight and operational cost analysis.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA or MBA preferred.
- Experience with home health and hospice financial operations.
- Experience working with healthcare real estate and facility economics.
- Experience implementing financial systems and operational reporting tools.
Important Note
This role requires experience in complex healthcare financial environments. Traditional private-pay assisted living or senior living finance experience alone is typically not sufficient unless combined with experience in SNF, hospital, home health, hospice, or similar reimbursement-driven healthcare operations.
