Chesapeake Search Partners has been engaged by a growing manufacturing company in Stevensville, MD to identify a Chief Financial Officer who will serve as a key member of the executive leadership team. Reporting directly to the CEO, this individual will play a pivotal role in driving financial strategy, enhancing operational performance, and supporting the organization’s continued growth. The CFO will have full oversight of the company’s financial operations, including accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, and long term strategic planning. This is a highly visible leadership position offering the opportunity to influence business decisions and partner closely with senior leadership across the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a trusted strategic advisor to the CEO and leadership team, providing financial insight to support operational and long term business decisions.
- Partner with senior leaders to evaluate growth initiatives, capital investments, pricing strategies, and operational improvements.
- Oversee all accounting and finance functions, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting.
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including preparation of financial statements and management reports.
- Develop and oversee tax strategy and compliance, coordinating with external advisors and finance leadership.
- Lead annual budgeting and forecasting processes, including variance analysis and performance tracking.
- Establish and monitor KPIs to assess financial and operational performance.
- Drive continuous improvement in forecasting accuracy, cost control, and margin optimization.
- Support pricing, cost structure analysis, and profitability by product line or customer segment.
- Manage cash flow, working capital, and liquidity to support ongoing operations and growth initiatives.
- Identify financial risks and implement mitigation strategies, including insurance and internal controls.
- Improve financial processes, systems, and reporting tools to support scalability and efficiency.
- Collaborate with operations, supply chain, and sales leadership to align financial planning with operational execution.
- Support ERP and financial systems optimization, integration, and data integrity.
- Ensure finance function supports manufacturing, inventory, and cost accounting requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
- CPA, CMA, or MBA strongly preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, including senior-level finance leadership roles.
- Proven experience in manufacturing, industrial, or engineered product environments.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls.
- Demonstrated ability to partner with executive leadership and influence business strategy.
- Experience working within a multinational or global parent-subsidiary structure strongly preferred.
- Experience with ERP systems and cost accounting within a manufacturing environment.
