Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead financial operations across multiple entities. This confidential client is a well-established, service-driven organization with a strong reputation, exceptional amenities, and a multi‑faceted operational structure.
About The Opportunity (Confidential Client)
The organization operates a private club offering year-round hospitality, dining, lodging, sports, and waterfront activities. A separate corporate entity manages community services, infrastructure, security, and residential real estate.
Role Summary
The CFO serves as a strategic partner to senior leadership and two Boards, overseeing all financial strategy, reporting, audits, budgeting, forecasting, compliance, and system improvements. The ideal candidate will modernize processes, strengthen financial controls, develop analytics, and lead a high-performing finance team.
This position is ideal for a proactive, ethical finance leader with experience in hospitality or private clubs.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead financial planning, forecasting, and strategic analysis
- Oversee monthly closes, financial reporting, reconciliations, and variance analysis
- Manage AR/AP, payroll, treasury, inventory controls, and procurement
- Ensure GAAP compliance and oversee all tax filings
- Coordinate annual audits and manage auditor relationships
- Develop KPIs, dashboards, and department-level analytics
- Support capital budgeting and long-range financial planning
- Implement financial policies, SOPs, and cross‑department process improvements
- Lead and develop the finance/accounting staff
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related field; CPA preferred
- Minimum of 5 years in a CFO, Controller, or senior finance leadership role
- Experience in private clubs, hospitality, or similar service environments
- Strong GAAP knowledge and comprehensive accounting experience
- Multi-entity experience a plus
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite; club management software experience preferred
- Strong communication, leadership, and analytical skills
