The Opportunity
We are looking for a seasoned Chief Financial Officer to serve as the financial backbone of the organization. As CFO, you will be a key member of the executive team, working directly with ownership to shape strategy, build financial infrastructure, and ensure the business has the financial clarity it needs to grow with confidence.
This is not a caretaker role. We need a builder — someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, moves fast, and brings the financial discipline that turns a high-growth operation into a scalable business.
What You'll Own
- Full financial leadership: GL, AP/AR, payroll, timekeeping, and month/year-end close
- Chart of accounts setup and financial infrastructure buildout
- Budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
- Project cost tracking and direct materials procurement oversight
- Financial reporting to ownership and stakeholders
- ERP system implementation and optimization
- Internal controls, compliance, and audit readiness
- Strategic financial planning in support of growth initiatives
What We're Looking For
Required:
- CPA designation — active
- Proven CFO or senior financial leadership experience
- Manufacturing industry background
- Hands-on experience owning the month-end close
- Willingness to relocate to the Grand Rapids, MI area
- Ability to operate effectively without a large corporate support structure
Strongly Preferred:
- ERP implementation experience — setting up or optimizing a system from scratch
- Private equity reporting experience
- Experience establishing chart of accounts and financial processes in a growth-stage company
- Job cost or project accounting background
- Familiarity with modular, prefab, or construction-related manufacturing
