POSITION SUMMARY
The CFO will evaluate potential strategic business partnerships, assessing both the opportunities and risks they present from an operational and financial standpoint. The ideal candidate brings prior CFO-level experience within a company generating between $100M and $500M in revenue. As a true strategic partner to the CEO, this individual will take ownership of the organization's overall performance — spanning both the annual budget and the company's long-term strategic vision. They will design and implement the tools and systems necessary to deliver meaningful financial and operational insights to the CEO, translating data into clear, actionable recommendations across both strategy and day-to-day operations. This leader will ensure that long-term budget planning and cost management remain tightly aligned with the brand's strategic priorities, particularly as the organization explores sponsorship opportunities, potential acquisitions, and collaborations with external partners.
ROLE PRIORITIES
Partner with the CEO and President to shape the company's strategic direction and turn high-level goals into executable plans
Proactively identify and address operational and financial risks while ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements
Drive the pre-IPO process in close coordination with the CEO and executive leadership team
Build and continuously refine financial strategies by leveraging accounting and financial data to guide decision-making and align functional objectives with broader organizational goals
Track financial performance through ongoing analysis, taking corrective action where needed and minimizing variance impacts in areas requiring cost discipline
Lead the budgeting process to ensure plans reflect company priorities and support informed decision-making
Oversee, implement, and maintain strategic tax planning across the company and its subsidiary entities
Champion organizational change and transformation efforts to keep pace with evolving business demands, ensuring clear and consistent communication throughout the process
Cultivate and manage relationships with external partners, vendors, and suppliers to maximize value and drive operational excellence
Continuously evaluate expenses and resource allocation to keep the organization on track with its financial objectives
Direct financial due diligence, integration planning, and acquisition strategy
Review partnership and acquisition contracts and provide financial modeling consultation
Serve as the company's primary representative to external financial stakeholders, including banks, investors, senior executives, auditors, and public officials
SKILLS
Deep expertise in Accounting and GAAP, with the ability to anticipate and navigate the evolving complexities of accounting as the business scales and assess the financial impact of accounting changes
Comprehensive knowledge of taxation principles and corporate structures
Skilled in structuring partnerships and transactions while evaluating their financial and tax implications
Experience preparing accounting functions and financial reporting for a public company transition
Proven ability to manage the shift from cash to accrual accounting, establish audit-ready processes, and build the infrastructure and reporting needed to support growth
Strong financial forecasting capabilities, including building detailed financial models and contributing strategic input
Thorough understanding of all revenue streams and expense categories that drive the financial model
Ability to mentor and guide teams in navigating complex, multi-variable financial models
Hands-on experience with M&A activity and financial due diligence
Skilled in developing and approving departmental budgets that account for headcount planning, technology implementation, and other growth-related needs
Ability to interpret contracts — including partnership and vendor agreements — and evaluate their potential financial impact on the business
EDUCATION
- Master of Business Administration (MBA), Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting, or equivalent experience
- Experience in NetSuite
- At least 10 years’ experience as a CFO in financial-management firms
- Required experience: private equity, raising capital debt equity, mergers and acquisitions, multi location expansion and operations, and consolidations/roll up
