About TradePe
TradePe is an RBI PA-CB licensed cross-border trade banking platform for Indian exporters. We offer local collection in 100+ currencies — including African currencies no other Indian platform covers. India–Africa trade hit $103B in FY2025 and is growing 17% YoY. We are going after that white space.
About the Role
This is not a team lead role. You won't be managing people — you'll be using AI tools, automation, and systems thinking to do the work of a 4-person growth team. We're looking for someone who has already internalized this operating model and can demonstrate it.
We expect this hire to use AI across the full GTM stack — for competitor and market research, ICP scoring, outbound copywriting and personalisation, content at scale, SEO strategy, funnel analytics, and campaign iteration. The baseline expectation is that you can do the work of a content marketer, an outbound SDR, a paid media analyst, and a market researcher — not simultaneously, but sequentially, using the right tools.
What success looks like
First 100 activated paying exporters onboarded. Comparison content ranking on Google. A working outbound sequence for merchandise exporters in 2+ trade clusters. One Africa corridor pilot running. A documented GTM playbook the founders can use to brief investors.
What You Will Own
- Market mapping and ICP discovery — Identify high-potential exporter segments through data analysis, customer conversations, trade data, and AI-assisted market research. Build a living segmentation of Indian exporters by vertical, export cluster, geography, and buyer corridor.
- Positioning and messaging — Translate market insights into sharp, segment-specific positioning. Develop messaging that speaks to the real pain of each cluster — not generic "fast and cheap payments" copy, but specific arguments for why a pharma exporter in Hyderabad shipping to Nigeria should switch from their AD bank to TradePe.
- Content and SEO as a core acquisition channel — Build and execute an SEO and content strategy targeting high-intent exporter search queries. This includes comparison content ("TradePe vs Payoneer"), compliance guides (FIRA, eBRC, purpose codes, RoDTEP), and Africa trade corridor guides — a content category no competitor has built. Use AI to produce content at scale while maintaining credibility and depth.
- Outbound and cluster-based acquisition — Build outbound sequences using Clay, Apollo, and AI personalisation at scale. Go beyond digital outbound to include export cluster activations (events, associations, trade bodies like FIEO, EEPC India, Pharma Export Promotion Council), CA/customs broker channel development, and diaspora network activation for Africa corridors.
- Africa corridor GTM — Own the go-to-market for TradePe's India–Africa payment corridor, which is our most defensible white space. This means identifying Indian exporters with African buyers (using trade intelligence tools), building Africa-specific content and landing pages, and supporting the development of Africa-side distribution partnerships (Indian chambers of commerce in Nairobi, Lagos, Johannesburg).
- Channel experiments and funnel optimisation — Run structured experiments across messaging, targeting, and channel mix. Own the full funnel from first touchpoint to activation and revenue. Track conversion metrics at each stage and build a clear view of CAC, LTV, and payback by segment.
- Partnerships and channel development — Identify and build partnerships that create compounding distribution: CA referral networks, NBFC co-marketing (invoice discounting + payment rail), marketplace integrations (Shopify India, Amazon Global Selling), and export promotion body endorsements.
- Sales enablement and pipeline support — Build the battlecards, case studies, and ROI calculators that help close deals faster. Work with founders on high-value accounts. Create segment-specific collateral for merchandise exporters that requires an assisted sales motion.
- Customer insight and feedback loops — Conduct regular interviews with activated users and churned prospects. Feed insights into positioning, product roadmap, and GTM iteration. You are the voice of the customer to the founding team.
- GTM systems and infrastructure — Build and own the growth tech stack — CRM hygiene, outbound automation, analytics dashboards, and reporting cadence. Set up the systems so that what works can be handed off or scaled without being in your head.
Who You Are
The must-haves are non-negotiable. The preferred experience tells you what kind of candidate stands out. If you're a strong generalist with the right mindset, the domain knowledge can be learned — but AI-native operating is a must, not a nice-to-have.
- 3–6 years in GTM, growth, or early-stage business roles in fintech, SaaS, or B2B startups
- Demonstrated use of AI tools across research, content, outbound, and analytics in your current or past role
- Built or materially contributed to a new segment, channel, or business line from scratch
- Has owned or co-owned a funnel from acquisition through activation — not just top-of-funnel demand gen
- Comfortable with funnel metrics, cohort analysis, CAC/LTV thinking, and data-driven prioritisation
- Makes decisions with incomplete information, moves fast, doesn't wait for permission
Preferred experience (good to haves)
- Content + SEO is likely our highest-leverage low-CAC channel. Experience building comparison content, compliance guides, or category-defining editorial in B2B fintech is highly valued.
- Familiarity with FEMA, FIRA/eBRC, RoDTEP, purpose codes, or DGFT will dramatically reduce ramp time. Knowing why an exporter cares about FIRC is a differentiator.
- Existing relationships in export clusters (Surat, Ludhiana, Hyderabad), trade associations (FIEO, EEPC), or the India–Africa business corridor are a head start.
- Experience selling into tightly-knit professional communities (CAs, export merchants, trade associations) where trust and word-of-mouth matter more than digital ads.
