The Opportunity
Our client, an established, publicly traded organization operating within a complex, product-driven environment is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to join its dynamic executive leadership team. This role will be instrumental in elevating financial operations, enhancing reporting capabilities, and building the infrastructure needed to support continued growth.
This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who can operate both strategically and tactically, bringing structure, visibility, and scalability to the finance function while partnering closely with operations and executive leadership.
A key mandate will be modernizing financial processes and creating tighter alignment between core business functions and financial reporting through improved systems, automation, and cross-functional integration.
Transition support will be provided to ensure continuity across reporting and finance operations.
What Sets This Role Apart:
- High-impact leadership role with direct influence on business performance and scalability
- Opportunity to modernize and shape the finance function
- Visible partnership with executive leadership and board stakeholders
- Environment that values both strategic thinking and hands-on execution
What You’ll Own:
Finance & External Reporting
- Lead all aspects of financial reporting, including the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual results, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with U.S. GAAP
- Oversee public company reporting requirements, including SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q, 8-K), while serving as the primary point of contact for external auditors and advisors
- Apply strong technical accounting expertise to complex transactions, policy development, and ongoing refinement of accounting practices
- Elevate the overall quality, consistency, and transparency of financial reporting to support executive decision-making and external stakeholders
Strategic Finance & Business Partnership
- Partner with executive leadership to drive financial strategy, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning initiatives
- Translate financial and operational data into meaningful insights around profitability, cost drivers, inventory performance, and capital allocation
- Monitor and optimize key metrics such as cash flow, working capital, and margins across product lines and business segments
- Support board reporting, investor communications, and strategic initiatives with clear, data-driven analysis
Operational Finance, Systems & Process Transformation
- Lead the modernization of accounting and finance systems, with a focus on improving ERP utilization, data integrity, and cross-functional visibility
- Design and implement more efficient, scalable workflows across purchasing, inventory, manufacturing, and revenue cycles
- Identify and execute opportunities to automate routine accounting activities, reducing manual processes and increasing accuracy and speed
- Build and standardize best practices, policies, and SOPs that create a more structured, systems-driven finance environment
Team Leadership & Capability Building
- Mentor, develop, and elevate a small accounting team, strengthening both technical capabilities and overall performance
- Establish clear roles, expectations, and accountability across the function while fostering a collaborative and solutions-oriented culture
- Provide hands-on leadership where needed, balancing strategic oversight with day-to-day engagement
- Build a finance organization that can scale effectively without a proportional increase in headcount
Governance, Controls & Compliance
- Strengthen internal controls across financial and operational processes to ensure accuracy, consistency, and risk mitigation
- Ensure ongoing compliance with public company standards, regulatory requirements, and audit expectations
- Improve documentation, policy alignment, and process discipline to support audit readiness and long-term sustainability
What You Bring
- 8-10+ years of progressive experience in accounting and finance leadership roles
- Strong technical accounting foundation with deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting
- Experience in a publicly traded environment or direct exposure to SEC reporting (10-K, 10-Q, etc.)
