The Chief Financial Officer is a key member of the Executive Leadership Team and is responsible for shaping and executing the financial strategy for the company. This role oversees all financial operations, including Accounting, FP&A, Data Analytics, Board relations, and strategic business planning. The CFO partners closely with the CEO and senior leadership to drive profitable growth, operational efficiency, long range planning, and financial discipline. The ideal candidate is both a strategic advisor and an operational leader comfortable leading teams, implementing systems, and elevating organizational financial performance.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Leadership & Business Partnership
- Serve as a strategic advisor to the CEO and Executive Team, providing insights on financial performance, growth opportunities, and business risks informed by corporate planning approaches
- Develop, refine, and communicate the company’s long‑term financial strategy, inclusive of revenue growth assumptions, margin expansion, and capital allocation priorities.
- Partner with leaders across Product, Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Technology, and HR to achieve financial and operational targets.
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Lead forecasting, budgeting, monthly business reviews, and long‑range planning (LRP), incorporating best‑practice FP&A planning methods observed across roles.
- Analyze business performance, key metrics, trends, and drivers to guide strategic decision‑making.
- Identify financial risks, opportunities, and scenarios to proactively manage business outcomes.
Accounting, Controls & Compliance
- Oversee Accounting, ensuring accurate and timely financial statements, internal controls, audit readiness, and compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
- Lead external audits and maintain strong governance frameworks
- Implement policies, processes, and systems to elevate accuracy, speed, and transparency across the Finance function.
Operational Finance & Cross‑Functional Alignment
- Develop and maintain cost accounting structures, margin analysis, and unit economics to support strong pricing and sourcing decisions.
- Partner with Sourcing and Operations leadership to ensure cost optimizations, supplier terms, and inventory planning are financially sound.
- Support business case development, ROI modeling, and financial diligence for new products, technology investments, and expansion projects.
Leadership & Organizational Development
- Lead, mentor, and scale a high‑performing Finance organization, including Accounting, FP&A, Data Analytics, and Financial Systems.
- Build talent capabilities, succession plans, and a culture of accountability, partnership, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure Finance teams are equipped with modern systems, tools, and workflows to support growth and complexity.
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
- Deep knowledge of corporate finance, accounting principles, and internal controls.
- Strong understanding of strategic planning, LRP modeling, and scenario analysis.
- Expertise in cash flow management, budgeting, forecasting, and business analytics.
- Experience with ERP - preferably SAP, financial reporting systems, and data visualization tools.
- Strong leadership, communication, and executive‑level presentation skills.
- Ability to translate financial data into actionable business insights.
- High integrity, sound judgment, and the ability to influence cross‑functional teams.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or equivalent; MBA or CPA preferred.
- 15+ years of progressive Finance leadership experience, including significant executive or VP‑level oversight.
- Experience leading Finance for a mid‑size or growth‑stage global organization ($200M–$1B preferred) with exposure to various currencies
- Demonstrated success overseeing FP&A, Accounting, and strategic planning functions.
- Experience presenting to a Board of Directors and leading cross‑functional initiatives.
