The business is lean, high-performing, and led by an experienced founder, now entering its next phase of growth with a focus on further institutionalizing its finance and capital markets capabilities.
They are seeking to appoint a Chief Financial Officer & Head of Capital Markets, a senior leadership hire responsible for building and leading the firm’s capital markets and financial infrastructure while working directly alongside the Founder on capital strategy, deal execution, and platform growth. The role offers full visibility across funds, assets, and investments, with significant influence on the direction of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all capital markets activity across equity and debt, including fundraises, joint ventures, and deal-level structuring
- Structure and negotiate capital stacks across opportunistic real estate investments
- Oversee financial management across existing funds and support future vehicle launches
- Own fund-level modeling, waterfalls, capital calls, and distribution processes
- Manage lender relationships across senior, mezzanine, and structured finance
- Oversee portfolio-level financial performance across a diversified, multi-state asset base
- Partner with acquisitions and asset management teams on underwriting and execution
- Build and institutionalize investor reporting across funds, JVs, and separate accounts
- Interface directly with investors on performance, reporting, and capital activity
- Oversee third-party accounting, fund administration, audit, and tax providers
- Develop scalable financial systems and processes to support continued growth
- Act as a strategic partner to the Founder on capital allocation and business decisions
Requirements
- 10–20+ years of experience across real estate private equity, investment management, or real assets
- Strong experience across both capital markets and fund-level finance
- Deep understanding of JV structuring, waterfalls, and deal-level underwriting
- Experience managing multi-asset portfolios across multiple markets
- Proven ability to operate in a lean, entrepreneurial environment
- Track record of working across both strategic and hands-on responsibilities
- Experience interfacing directly with investors and capital partners
- Capital raising experience strongly preferred
