Apollo’s Equity platform spans Private Equity, Real Estate Equity, and Secondaries. Across these strategies, Apollo deploys long-term, flexible capital to acquire, build, and transform businesses and real assets, leveraging deep operational expertise, differentiated sourcing, and a fully integrated global platform. The Equities franchise represents a core pillar of Apollo’s asset management business and plays a central role in the firm’s long-term value creation strategy.
The Business Management CFO plays a key, hands-on leadership role coordinating budgeting and forecasting exercises across the Equity platform and is responsible for partnering across the firm to ensure a deep understanding of fund management & performance, capital deployment, realization activity, and management company economics. The role analyzes and reports on Apollo’s Equity businesses across the platform, with a focus on strategic transactions and special projects, including new funds and strategies, continuation vehicles, secondaries transactions, and overall financial impact to the firm. This individual will develop presentations for senior management on a monthly and ad hoc basis.
This is a highly visible role requiring frequent interaction with business leaders and investment teams across Private Equity, Real Estate, and Secondaries, as well as Strategic Finance, Controllers, Investor Relations, and the senior executive team.
The ideal candidate will have experience at a leading alternative asset manager or global financial institution in a senior finance leadership role, working cross-functionally on business building initiatives, new product launches, technology enhancements, and complex transactions. This individual will possess extensive finance expertise, strong accounting skills, and a robust understanding of equity fund structures and economics, with a demonstrated track record partnering with investment leadership to support growth and innovation.
Primary Responsibilities:
Support the Heads of the various Equity businesses and Asset Management CFO from a CFO perspective; understand strategic objectives, help shape business priorities, and provide outstanding technical, financial, and commercial input to facilitate decision-making
Manage and develop a dedicated finance team, empowering them to support, facilitate, and oversee the ongoing success of the Equities franchise from a financial perspective
Coordinate budgeting, forecasting, and long-term strategic planning across Private Equity, Real Estate Equity, and Secondaries strategies
Influence and drive financial discipline around capital raises, deployment pacing, portfolio investment activity, realizations, and carried interest generation across the Equity platform
Oversee analysis of fund-level performance, management company profitability, fee-related earnings, and long-term economics across multiple Equities vehicles and vintages
Analyze and report on new fund launches, product expansion, continuation funds, GP-led secondary transactions, co-investment structures, and other strategic initiatives, including assessment of financial impact to the firm
Drive cross-platform strategic dialogue to ensure alignment between investing activity, fundraising objectives, capital allocation, and firm-wide financial priorities
Partner closely with Investment Teams, Controllers, Fund Finance, Tax, Treasury, Compliance, and Strategic Finance to ensure strong financial controls, accurate reporting, and scalable infrastructure
Participate in and contribute to ongoing investment platform transformation initiatives, including upgrades to systems, reporting frameworks, and operational processes
Qualifications & Experience
Extensive experience working in a highly complex, publicly traded, global financial services organization, with significant exposure to either private equity, real estate equity, and/or secondaries investing
Deep understanding of equity fund structures, carried interest mechanics, waterfall calculations, capital allocation dynamics, and management company economics
Cross-functional experience across a broad range of finance disciplines, including fund finance, capital markets transactions, strategic planning, and performance analysis
Ability to manage complex analytical processes across multiple strategies and translate insights into clear strategic recommendations
Significant strategic capability and ability to drive high-level dialogue with senior business stakeholders
Gravitas and executive presence, with the ability to engage effectively with investment leadership and senior management
Experience managing sophisticated, multi-disciplinary teams
Outstanding verbal and written communication and presentation skills
Solutions- and growth-oriented mindset, with demonstrated ability to support innovation while maintaining financial rigor
Ability to make sound decisions under pressure while meeting deadlines
CPA and/or CFA designation strongly preferred
Pay Range
300,000 - 350,000

The base salary range for this position is listed above. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus based on personal, team, and Firm performance. Compensation ranges are based on several factors including job function, level, and geographic location. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed here.
