GTM Engineer Pepper · Full-time · Mumbai (US Hours)
About the Role
We're hiring a GTM Engineer to be the technical operator behind Pepper's US revenue engine. You'll sit at the intersection of Sales, Marketing, RevOps, and AI — building the automations, agents, data pipelines, and signal-based plays that let a small team punch like a much larger one.
This is not a traditional RevOps or marketing ops role. You're a builder. You ship workflows in Clay, n8n, and custom code; you wire LLMs into outbound and lifecycle; you stand up an AI-SDR layer; you build internal tools that make every rep and marketer 3–5x more productive. If "what could I automate this week with an LLM and an API key?" is the first question you ask on Monday, this is your role.
You report into the Revenue Operations Lead and work closely with the founders.
Location & Hours
Base location: Mumbai (in-office).
Working hours: 5:00 PM – 2:30 AM IST, aligned to US business hours, Monday–Friday.
This role partners daily with US Sales, Marketing, and RevOps. The shift is non-negotiable — please apply only if you're committed to the US schedule.
What You'll Own
Signal-Based Outbound & AI-Led GTM
Build and run the signal-based outbound engine in Clay (or equivalent): scrape, enrich, score, and route inbound + outbound leads using firmographic, technographic, intent, hiring, funding, and product-usage signals.
Stand up the AI-SDR layer: LLM-powered lead research, hyper-personalized first-touch generation, multi-step sequence orchestration, reply classification, and meeting routing. Replace 60–80% of manual SDR work with agents.
Wire intent data (6sense, G2, Bombora, Clearbit Reveal, LinkedIn signals, web visitor intel) into actionable plays — alerting reps in real time, triggering sequences, prioritizing accounts.
Continuously test and ship new outbound plays — measure response rate, meeting booked rate, and pipeline contribution per play. Kill what doesn't work in 2 weeks; scale what does.
GTM Stack Architecture & Automation
Own the GTM tech stack: CRM (HubSpot/Salesforce), sequencer (Outreach/Salesloft/Smartlead/Instantly), enrichment (Apollo/ZoomInfo/Cognism/Clay), intent (6sense/G2), CDP, and lifecycle tooling.
Build automations across the stack using n8n, Zapier, Make, and custom code (Python/JavaScript). Wire systems together so data flows end-to-end without manual touch.
Design and ship lead scoring, routing, deduping, and lifecycle workflows in HubSpot/Salesforce. Own SLA enforcement and routing logic.
Build and maintain GTM data pipelines — sync product usage, billing, and engagement data into the CRM. Make every rep's view of the customer 10x richer.
Internal AI Tools & Custom Builds
Ship internal AI tools for the GTM team: AI-powered call review and coaching, deal health scoring, account research agents, ICP scoring models, churn prediction, win-loss analysis automation.
Build lightweight internal apps (Streamlit, Retool, custom React, or no-code) that solve specific GTM bottlenecks the team flags week to week.
Operate as the AI translator — when sales/marketing leadership has a workflow problem, you scope it, build a v1 in 3–5 days, and iterate.
Measurement & Experimentation
Instrument every play, every automation, every agent. Track precision/recall, cost per output, and downstream pipeline impact.
Build dashboards (Looker, GA4, custom SQL) that show GTM leadership the health of the engine in real time.
Run a continuous experimentation backlog — outbound plays, scoring models, prompts, sequence variants. Ship 2–3 experiments a week.
What We're Looking For
3–7 years in a builder-heavy GTM, RevOps, growth engineering, marketing ops, or sales engineering role at a high-growth B2B SaaS or marketplace company.
Hands-on Clay expertise (or equivalent — Apollo + Smartlead + custom enrichment stacks). You've built non-trivial waterfalls, written Clay formulas, used the HTTP API node, and shipped real plays into production.
Strong working knowledge of HubSpot or Salesforce — workflows, custom objects, properties, integrations, and reporting. You can build complex automations without breaking things.
Comfortable writing Python or JavaScript for glue code, scripts, and lightweight tools. You don't need to be a senior engineer — but you can read API docs, call endpoints, parse JSON, and ship.
Hands-on with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini) and orchestration tools (n8n, LangChain, Vellum, custom). You've built at least one production agent or LLM workflow that delivered measurable business value.
Fluent with outbound sequencers (Outreach, Salesloft, Smartlead, Instantly, Lemlist) and the modern outbound stack.
Strong analytical chops — SQL is a big plus. You make decisions from data and can build the dashboard yourself if needed.
High ownership, strong bias for action, builder mentality. You'd rather ship a v1 in 3 days than a v3 in 3 weeks.
Excellent written communication — you can document a workflow, write a clean Loom, or scope a project in a one-pager.
Comfortable working US hours from Mumbai on a sustained basis. Prior US team/stakeholder experience required.
Bonus Points
Built and scaled an AI-SDR motion that produced measurable pipeline.
Built signal-based outbound that beat traditional cold outbound on response rate by 3–5x.
Worked at a company where GTM Engineering was a recognized function (Clay, Rippling, Ramp, OpenAI, Vercel, etc.).
Shipped internal AI tools that the sales/marketing team uses daily.
Familiarity with vector DBs, RAG, prompt engineering, and agentic frameworks.
Background in CS, engineering, or a quantitative field.
Why This Role
Own a brand-new function at Pepper — define what GTM Engineering looks like here.
Build at the frontier: LLM-powered outbound, AI-SDR agents, signal-based plays, and the next-gen GTM stack.
- Work at a company where AI is core to product and core to GTM — your work compounds with the company's direction.
